They are the only creamery in town along with Dairy Queen. Small town vibe. It’s kind of false advertising because the Kitchen part is actually Joe’s Bar and Grill. No wait staff, you place your order at the counter and go to a different counter to pick up your food. We were the only ones there and it took 3 Kitchen Employees over 30 minutes to Make a Bacon Cheeseburger and a Chicken sandwich. The signs around there signify that they must get into conflicts about how long the kitchen staff take to make your food. One reason it took so long was they yacked non-stop while cooking our food. The young man cleaning was yacking with them and he was drinking a beer on the job at 2:00 pm in the afternoon. The girl from the bar then joined them in the kitchen and started yacking. The creamery is getting a bad wrap being partnered with Joes Bar & Grill. The creamery part and staff was kind and helpful. The young man continued to yack as I was leaving with the creamery staff. If his shift is over he needs to go home. Not an ideal place with those with physical limitations unless you have someone there...
Read moreQuaint local diner that was one of the only places open early Sunday morning. We were touring the town and decided to grab breakfast here. We were greeted by everyone despite not being a ‘usual’ which seemed like the crowd dining here in the early Sunday. The sweet ladies who ran the restaurant were sweet and very attentive. They do have a sign at the front stating ‘Head’s up ya’ll. We do not serve fast food. Everything is made to order. Please be patient’ which we found out to be true. We were in no rush and entertained ourselves by walking around the gift shop area and the bar area next door. Ordered the throw down to share. Two pancakes, two sausage, three eggs our way, hashbrowns, three strips of bacon, and country ham. Simple but a good execution of a no frills comforting basic breakfast. Hashbrowns had the perfect crisp on the exterior and country ham was not overly salty. Loved the people and the charm. A must visit while in town, also the only breakfast option early...
Read moreWe loved our visit to Llano River Creamery and Kitchen! Tucked away in the charming little town of Llano, this place is a total gem. As soon as you walk in, it feels like stepping back in time—super nostalgic, like an old-fashioned soda shop. So cozy and inviting!
We came hungry and were not disappointed—everything was absolutely delicious. We had burgers, fries, onion rings, fried mushrooms, and tater tots (yes, we went all in 😄), and every bite was spot-on. Then we finished things off with the creamiest, dreamiest ice cream. So good!
It’s more than just an eatery too—they’ve got the cutest little gift shop area with adorable stuffed animals, puzzles, fun candy, and sweet earrings and gifts for all ages. It’s the kind of place you want to take your time in and soak up all the good vibes.
The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. We’re already looking forward to making the hour-and-a-half drive from South Austin again soon....
