Llano County Historical Museum is filled with items and information about the history of Llano County and the families who chose to settle here in the Hill Country of Central Texas. It includes such things as a full sized chuck wagon, side saddles, a fully equipped "soda fountain", family histories, etc. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the history of Llano County. The museum is acquiring more items on a regular basis and is currently working on collecting personal family histories through old photos, and documents, as well as recording family lore on video. It is fascinating to view some of Llano's "elder" residents talk about this area and families "back in the day." Only cost $10 dollars for my wife and I, and that includes a guided tour. The lady that gave the guided tour is such a sweetheart, she was super friendly and highly knowlegable in her history of the area and in general. She and my wife hit it off right away and that made my wife really enjoy her visit. Llano County Museum covers its history in its entirety. Read moreI wish I could give a good review but I can't ... the museum never opened when I was there on Jan 23, 2019. I came on a Wednesday at 11:00. The sign (both inside and outside) said they were open at 10:00 on Wednesdays (see my pictures). I waited until 11:30. Still no one came to open up the place. Too bad. I get that sometimes emergencies happen, but it would have been nice if they could have alerted the nearby Chamber of Commerce to put a sign on the door or something for...
