Went here with a friend and was.. well.. enchanted! So much to see, the owner chatted a bit, too. Very knowledgeable about seemingly every rock in the shop. Spent a while perusing, looking for gems my 5 year would like. She loved what I had picked out for her. Very fair prices and worth the hour drive for me, as I plan to go back with my kiddo and let her spend her Christmas money.

Update: I spent about an hour here with my kid and we both agree it is hands down our favorite rock shop! She selected so many rocks and I was proud to see her put aside shyness to ask the owner, Greg, questions about all kinds of rocks she picked out, plus other random questions like, where’d he get the brown bags. We made a day trip to rock hunt in Llano for our son who wanted to add to his collection. We loved our time here and appreciated how knowledgeable & kind the owner, Frank Rowell, was to us! Our oldest son listened as Mr. Rowell told us all the best spots to look for rocks & minerals (and suggested safer places for our younger kiddos). Mr. Rowell gave us a map with directions & told us about a park a street over where we could see neat stacked rock sculptures and clay sculptures by the river. I’ve never seen anything like it!
