I am always delighted to find great Asian food in small towns. China Wok is one of these places. It is a little different than a Big City Oriental Restaurant, so be prepared when you walk in. You have to walk up to the order counter, pick up a menu and step back to decide what you want to order. The staff was patient with me as I figured this out. You place your order, pay for your food and drink, then you get a disposable plate, cup and dinner ware and/or chopsticks and choose a seat at one of the plentiful tables. Then your hot, prepared food is delivered to your table in stout takeout containers. Then you proceed to serve up what you want, enjoy the delectable delights and what is left over is already in takeout containers. The bulk of the business is call-in and carry out orders, but they accommodate walk-up and dine-in guests graciously, but don't expect a Maitre d' to greet you and have a waitperson at your beck and call. But if you are used to self service and a laid back atmosphere, the food alone warrants a visit, dine-in or carry-out.

Now, on to the food my wife and I dined on Egg Drop Soup, Wonton Soup, Egg Rolls, Vegetable Delight and Fried Rice. That was plenty for us both with some leftovers to take home. The food was excellent and if I make it through Llano, TX again, I will definitely dine there again! The staff was gracious for our patronage and quickly oriented me on their different style of service, which I quickly adapted to. So for their quirkiness mixed with their patience, graciousness and excellent food with quick service, they earned my 5...

When you come to llano, you might get there and think that there is no great place to get a great and filling dinner, however, Llano has the one and only china wok, a hidden gem in the texas hill country. As soon as you walk into the building, you are immediately met with a warming and welcoming entry, and the smell of amazing Chinese food. You walk further in and step by step you feel more at home, as you are met with the welcoming greeting of Micheal and his family. He is very kind and makes sure you get everything that you need. When you order, your food immediately starts getting prepared and it is brought out within minutes. The food is hot off the stove and provides lots of bang for your buck. Every item on the menu is full of flavors and a 10/10 to get. Everything is made to perfection. There is no other place I would rather eat than china wok. If you are nearby, I highly recommend you go check it out and enjoy a...

I love China Wok in Llano! I've lived in places where good Chinese food was available and was missing it here in the Texas Hill Country. Now that we have a really good one it's hard to stay out of it. The food is wonderful, fresh and accompanied by home made sauces rather than the average 'buy it by the gallon' variety. Even costly ingredients are generously used and every dish I've tried so far has met all my expectations and more. The kitchen is open, viewable and scrupulously clean. The service is warm and personal-it's obviously a family-run venture and they really care about the customer. Prices are very reasonable and encourage you to 'treat yourself' a...

Stopped in after a drive through hill country. Service was super friendly and helpful. We had the General Tso's chicken, crab rangoon, pan fried dumplings and beef egg fu young. Chicken was excellent. Crab rangoons had generous amounts of cream cheese filling and the sauce was tasty. Egg fu young came in a large portion and was delicious. The dumplings were perfection. Thinner skin, not thick and doughy at all, and the meat was juicy and flavorful. The sweet soy dipping sauce was spot on. Walked off the meal through the quiet, lovely town and along the river. Definitely a memorable time and will visit again.

We came here on Thanksgiving evening honestly because it was the only place open, but we were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was and how nice the staff were. I had the kung pao shrimp and my significant other had the beef with broccoli. Mine was a little better than hers was (in both our opinions), but both were very good. I’m picky on my Chinese food, but I would definitely come back.
