Luu's Chicken Bowl — Restaurant in Lodi

Found this hidden gem while shopping out in Lodi. Really came close to 5 stars. I ordered online and picked up at the drive thru, service was expedient. I will go in next time to see if they have a sauce bar.

We ordered the Combination with Pork, and beef, the Chicken skewers, and Sesame Chicken. This place is comparable to Teriyaki Chicken Express out in Sac area. I deducted stars because of the Kimchee and the lack of flavor in their Sesame Chicken dish. The beef could have used some fresh cracked pepper, and the Pork was over cooked, dry and tough.

Usually Sesame Chicken is made with a tangy lemon sauce, and sprinkled with toasted Sesame, this had none of that. The crispy-ness was non existent after a 10 minute rede home. I should have got the sauce on the side.

Me and my family came here for the first time. We all loved the chicken teriyaki! It was very tender and full of flavor! They also serve a very good amount of white rice and some veggies on the side (cooked carrots, broccoli and cabbage). We also love the hot sauce (i don't know if it's like Sriracha but this one seems homemade), we also added some of their toasted sesame seeds to our chicken and it gave it a great flavor. The only thing me and my husband were disappointed in was the beef teriyaki, it was tough and dry. I hope it was just this batch, because everything else we had was delicious, even our kids enjoyed it and said they wanted to come back and get more of that chicken. It’s ok. For the price the food is good but otherwise it can be better. Service ok when I went, it seems others are getting better service but the lady who took my order seemed impatient and was a little rude. However, perhaps it was just a bad day for her so it’s understandable. Chicken was cooked nicely, not enough flavor but that’s personal preference. A little more salt or sauce would have fixed that. Place was clean except the sauce bar which got a little messy.
