Came here for the first time this morning. Service was great and we were immediately seated. Food came out quickly. I only got the eggs/bacon/potatoes/toast so it's hard to gauge it by that, but it was all very good for what it was. The country potatoes seemed deep fried and were fantastically crispy; both people in our party loved them. The other person in my party got the eggs Benedict; it looked great, and they enjoyed it. The setting couldn't have been much better, nestled in a gully near the base of the canyon, and the building was interesting.
Really the closest thing to a downside was the odd music choice blasting through the restaurant... it felt really strange to (literally) be listening to Nelly's "Hot In Here" while eating breakfast surrounded by a bunch of geriatric patrons. Hearing the lyrics "I am getting so hot, I wanna take my clothes off" while watching LDS grandma and grandpa enjoying their morning pancakes was strange, and there was a lot of other really bizarre music selection. I'm no prude, but gangster rap wasn't what I would have expected for the setting and the demographic. Fortunately, everyone seemed to be enjoying their food too much to notice the offensive...
Read moreTook my daughter here for a little date on Monday afternoon. The place was somewhat busy and we put our name in for a table. The wait was about 10 minutes to be seated. Once we got to the table it took quite some time to get water and for the waitress to come by and take our order. My daughter ordered the Mickey Mouse pancakes which were a generous portion for a decent price. I ordered the inside out Grilled cheese with steak as an add-on, as well as the special macaroni and cheese. While the sandwich was a OK, nothing to write home about, the macaroni and cheese was not very flavorful. What surprised me was the cost of said sandwich. What amounted to a small portion of macaroni and cheese and a plane size sandwich cost upwards over 15 bucks. Just was a bit surprised by the price. The only other downfall to this establishment is the lack of attendance to customers. While my daughter and I were looked after fine, other tables around me waited upwards of 25 minutes for their tickets to show up. I even noticed one table go get their own coffee and water from the waiting area. A bit interesting. While this isn't one of my favorite places l've ever been I wouldn't hesitate...
Read moreTo get seated was not that long. It took a while for our waiter to take our order. We couldn't find her anywhere after she brought us water. Probably waited about 15 minutes. There was a lot of people walking around, I get that everyone has different roles, but no one checked in on us.
We eventually flagged down a busy waiter who was multitasking printing receipts from a terminal for other tables. They weren't as present taking our order.
Food comes out, and 3 minutes later the waiter puts the check on the table. Like we haven't even gotten a chance to eat yet.
As a first timer, I was looking forward to a friendly, welcoming and above and beyond experience. I didn't get that. We barely had any engagement with the workers. Even the payment was done electronically at the table by myself.
The food was ehh. Super carb heavy. We got the vegan skillet and it had too many potatoes. It would of been nice to get more tofu, mushrooms, and soy chorizo. An expensive plate, made up of majority potatoes. The veggie burger also felt heavy. Two bean patties and barely no veggies. I wish there was more lettuce and tomato in it.
Fries and garlic aioli were...
