I have been eating sushi for about 10 years now. Around this area it's hard to find sushi of this quality. Sometimes the servers aren't the best. But the food is always outstanding. We try to go at least once a month.
2/5/22 Review My fiancé and I went there for dinner tonight. We didn't bother with a reservation as the last few times its been slow. The wait wasn't bad. Though we watched numerous families leave, and yet we still waited to get seated. I also requested a booth. There's was only one other couple waited to get seated. We were both seated at the same time. We got seated at a table, not a booth as we requested. Now the restaurant was not busy but no means. We were seated next to 2 tables that were used, and had all the dirty dishes on them. As we looked around there was atleast 10 tables with dirty dishes on them. At this point the couple seated before us had their drinks and appetizers. We hadn't even seen our waitress yet. This was 20 minutes in. Finally our waitress who also happened to be the bartender came over. We gave her our complete order. Drinks still didn't come for another 10 minutes. Our appetizer was luke warm at best. We requested more drinks, as I watched her chit chat with the people at the bad and completely ignore us and any other table that she had. 30 minutes later she brings us our sushi. And then realizes she never brought us our drinks. At this point I handed her my card and told her to charge it, I wasn't waiting another 30 minutes to see her again. The food was good as always. But the service is hit or miss. The couple seated before us. I watched their waitress run around the entire time we were there. And they were done long before we were. I even stopped that waitress and told her how good of a job she was doing. And how nice it would of been if she would of been our waitress. Now here's where it turned our stomachs. We watched them take dirty dishes from one table to the next. Not wipe the table down and seat people there with no cleaning. The staff all wear masks but then do...
Read moreSake Hana: The Spot That Stole My Chopsticks (and My Heart) Sake Hana is what happens when a menu goes on a world tour and brings back every single souvenir. I barely had time to snap a picture before diving in - and honestly? I have no regrets. Sometimes you just have to let the food be the moment. We rolled deep with our order. Gyoza? Gone in seconds. Shrimp shumai? Light, delicate, perfect. And that virgin mango daiquiri? Tropical bliss. Then came the headliners: General Tso’s chicken with that crispy-saucy magic, a rainbow roll that felt like art, and three rolls that seriously understood the assignment — TNT, Dynamite, and Eel. A sushi triple-threat. Just when I thought I couldn’t love this place more… they brought out a cheesesteak egg roll. Yes, you read that right. The lavender cocktail? Floral and flirty. The sake? Smooth and confident. The hibachi and peanut sauce chicken? Sizzled with flavor and cooked to perfection. Every dish at the table had someone audibly gasping. And that’s when you know it’s good. This place is a whole vibe. The kind of spot that makes you jealous of anyone who lives within a 10-minute radius. If I did, they’d have my face carved into a booth by now. Final verdict? Run, don’t walk. And maybe bring a...
Read moreIt's a local favorite for a reason, though lately it's kinda lost it's charm a bit. But hey, I'm not super-picky: I come for Asian cuisine (primarily Thai, Chinese and Japanese food), and this place delivers (pun intended)! Its menu is pretty big, so you can really spend some time deciding on many things to get. Having eaten the sushi, the General Tso's, the Hibachi, and the Ramen Soup: I would say it has a balanced variety of good to great quality dishes/meals!
Eating in can be a bit noisy, and a bit tight at times, but there's a sushi bar, a normal bar, and 3-4 tatami tables (they cheat by having it sunken down beneath the tables, so you don't have to sit criss-cross). The lighting can be a bit dark in some places, but overall is bright enough to see! Music isn't traditional, which is okay I suppose, but then again: I'm there for the foods, not strictly the ambiance or setting. They also do take out, which is amazing as they never used to do that pre-COVID. Now, they do it, and it's what a lot of the customers are doing now.
My advice: eat in. Food's fresher and the sushi will taste much...
