I couldn't figure out why a place that sold pizza that delicious was completely empty on a Friday night at 8pm, at first. Then it became more evident.
My husband and I went there as a date night. We live in southeastern Columbus but we went for a little drive (about 40 minutes) because we like trying new Pizza places.
When we arrived, there were 2 cars in the parking lot. Got a little worried, honestly. The reviews were good for this place, but sometimes reviews are off. You know?
Anyway, we went inside and weren't sure what protocol to use. Do we wait to be seated, we wondered? As we waited to be acknowledged, we read the signs. Finally, I asked the young man standing there what to do. He said we order there, at the counter. I said, "Sorry. I haven't been here before so I wasn't sure." He waited.
Caught off guard by the brusk nature of the employee, we hurriedly tried to make a decision from a menu we had only seen that night. My husband told him that he wanted a large pizza and wings. When asked what size wings, my husband pointed to their special. The kid argued with him that he was ordering the wrong size pizza to qualify for the special.
They argued back and forth with the kid finally agreeing that we did actually qualify by what the sign said, afterall. đ Then he had us pay, after which we just stood there looking at each other again. Then he walked away.
So we just figured out what to do. Assuming we were supposed to wait for them to either call our names or bring out the food when it was ready, we found a place to sit.
The other two families both finished up, and they left. I had planned on observing them so I could figure out how everything worked, but no luck. We ended up just getting our own plates and utensils because they were sitting out by the then-closed buffet. We got our drinks from the fountain (we already knew how that worked. đ) And we waited again.
When we did get the appetizer, and eventually the pizza, we weren't spoken to at all either time. The food was really tasty. Based on how empty it was, we were relieved to find out that the reviews were right after all!
Then the group of kids that were working there started goofing off. It sounded like the girl was in distress while the boys were laughing so we checked on her. She seemed fine, though.
We finished what we could then assumed that if we needed a box, we would have to go ask for one. We had to wait at the counter for the shenanigans to pause so that we could do just that.
We left the mess at the table because that's what the other two families did. Either they already knew protocol or they coincidentally both decided to just leave. I'm sorry if that was the wrong thing to do. We didn't know.
The girl at least said goodbye as we were leaving.
Now listen, I know they were kids working for minimum wage, and that means minimal effort. I get it. But maybe a little retraining or adult supervision wouldn't hurt?
Anyway, the next time we go for a drive looking for a nice dining experience and some good pizza, I guess we will try that Phat Daddy place. Maybe...
Read moreTruly the most horrible pizza. Very skimpy toppings, had to go home and put extra cheese on it myself. Was very disappointed because for that price i expected better.. and especially when it says "Truly Italian" on their sign. What a joke! I had expressed my dissatisfaction on Cappy's facebook page and i was met in a very egotistical manner by the smartass owner. If you do call and complain, I am sure you will be given the same treatment. The rudest person i have encountered in awhile! Bad service. I rather go to any place but here.. I don't appreciate snide remarks by the owner when i give a 1 star review on their fb page. Very unprofessional. I have a feeling they won't last in the new building at this rate.. the "hype" and newness will wear off..and nobody will care to see what it's all about anymore. There aren't many places in London you can take visitors from out of town.. But i will stay clear of Cappy's.. I only invest my dollar in quality places and people. Enough said. If you want to know what a good pizza tastes like.. Try Don Gino's on W. Broad Street.. they have a Monday Large Special.. very good price and awesome amount of toppings.. Now THEY taste like true authentic Italian pizza! They know how to treat their customers too! Go somewhere that cares about their customers and values them spending their money. CRAPPY's pizza and crappy service? Nope, never again! Usually i don't leave reviews.. but after the nasty comments i received i feel that a review is warranted. As another reviewer on facebook so eloquently put it: "You are better off getting a frozen pizza at the...

Overall, this is the best pizza in London, Ohio. Reading some of the other reviews, I see most agree - however, it's funny to see most of the bad reviews come from terminated employees or those who were not hired in the first place (yes, I used to work there). In my opinion, you can't go wrong with Cappy's Pizza!
Now...I hope everyone sees how good I speak of Cappy's Pizza, but yesterday (11/27/2018), I ordered my regular - an extra large Favorite with soft crust. Even though it wasnt but 10:12 PM, I was greeted on the phone with "pickup only". I picked up my pizza, got home, and couldn't even eat it because the dough was barely cooked. When I called, Jack, the Manager, answered the phone with "we're closed" and I told him I wasnt ordering but rather making a complaint. Today, about 10 minutes ago, I called to order a pizza and was told I had a $10 credit! I had a $24 pizza I couldn't eat or get replaced (they were closed, remember?), but Jack only provided less than a 50% credit? As I tried to reason with Jack, he told me I could order at another pizza joint and hung up on me. I WILL NOT be ordering anything else from Cappy's Pizza until I receive a full credit and an apology! Jack decided he should tell me that he's been working there 8 years and that soft crust means not fully cooked...well, Jack, not 8 consecutive years because, as I said, I worked there too - AND YOU DID NOT! Fix this, please, Bob (Cappy) or you've lost a customer who spends quite a bit of money at your...
