If you’re looking for delicious, authentic italian food and unmatched hospitality, you have to try this place. They were extremely accommodating for our party of 14 with some dietary restrictions, and, despite how difficult it is to run a restaurant, the owner, Robert, was outstanding. He checked in on our group multiple times throughout the night, speaking with us before moving on to other happy customers. Here’s the kicker: I am an avid Tartufo lover and was excited to stay for dessert, but after a long night of exceptional eats, my family was full and ready to head home. When Robert came out to say goodnight, I asked him if they had Tartufo on the dessert menu. He said that they did and asked if I wanted any. When I told him I couldn’t stay for dessert, but that I would come back tomorrow night to try it, he told me that if I did come back he would give me a dish for free. So, the next night, I headed back to Roberto’s. As expected, Robert was out greeting guests, and when I caught his eye by the door, he knew exactly why I was there! This man stuck to his word and gave me Tartufo on the house! This was the best dining experience of all our LBI family vacations over the years, and the excellent service was the cherry on top… or, I should say, in the middle, surrounded by gelato and covered in chocolate!

This place has a very traditional, at-home feel to it. From the decor, to the layout of the restaurant , it definitely felt like we were guests in their home. Just hanging out in their living spaces while enjoying a delicious meal. Really enjoyed the vibes and the delicious food made it that much better. Would definitely recommend the Pesto Pasta, Alla Vodka pasta as well as their Mozzarella in Carrozza. We didn't see a kids menu / options. However the servings are quite hefty, so we ended up splitting 2 plates and an appetizer among the three of us and it was more than enough. In fact, we were not able to finish the meals. Believe me, we tried. We didn't have a place to store any leftovers, so we didn't want to leave anything behind because it was that good. We didn't have reservations on a Friday evening and we didn't have any issues. The place was lively but they were still able to find a table for us. It is BYOB. Easily one of the best meals we have had on the island.

BYOB. Small place, highly recommend reservations. We were seated immediately for our 6:30 Friday reservation and place was about half full, filling in quickly after us. Good selections of specials, I ended up ordering one, the cannelloni with ground veal and Rosa sauce, my wife the chicken Gabriella. Both were good, neither great but enjoyable. Appetizer (mozzarella in carroza) was very good and while small the complimentary salads were good. We wrapped up with the Roberto’s dessert which was a warm brownie with vanilla gelato that was excellent. Overall this is a good place on the island and contrary to other reviews, our bill for two was only $100 which I thought very reasonable for the island. I’d definitely be back. I think overall Isola/Azzuri are the top Italian on the island. I think Russos slightly better but similar and I’d pick Roberto’s over Rainondos. Service was top notch and while a smaller more traditional place spacing of tables was good.

Have to share the experience that my family had here. Some pros and cons. Let me just say, I rarely leave negative reviews on anything and this is a first for me. For the pros. The food was amazing. Everybody loved everything. Chef was great. Our waitress was attentive and very pleasant. As for the reservation aspect. This was our first time in LBI, traffic was a bit more than we anticipated. We were late and called ahead. When we got there the lady, hostess perhaps owner, not very welcoming and immediately made it know to my husband we have to leave by 650 because we are late. Which we understood and wouldn't dispute because we were late, but there is a way to communicate such in a more pleasant manner. My mother then went back into the restaurant a separate time, (since we were seated outside) and then she was told from a male worker perhaps owner, that we had to leave by 720. Again, we didn't mind and didn't dispute it the first time nor the second time,, because we were late and we would be accommodating but there is definitely a better way to go about this and their times frame weren't the same from the both of them. We felt rush for sure, a little to intense of an environment. Probably wouldn't go back because of that, but food and waitress were awesome. 5 stars for food...

My full blooded Italian family and I came here for dinner a few nights ago vacationing in beach haven for the week. We were scrambling last minute to find reservations at other italian restaurants in the area and thankfully they were able to easily accommodate our party of 8 with 4 children. The service was fantastic - our waiter was very helpful and polite. The fresh bread to start was fantastic and we enjoyed the fresh oil / garlic to dip it into. We tried the stuffed eggplant as an appetizer and it was delicious A+. All dinners were served with a fresh salad… the blue cheese dressing was great. My girlfriend tried the penne vodka as her main dish and added chicken and it was phenomenal I would get this if we come again someday! I tried the chicken parm with penne and it was very good.. not the best I’ve ever had but satisfying nonetheless. Portion sizes were very big which we all appreciated. Fresh cheese for main courses and grounded pepper for the salads was a very nice touch. Also I will add that the prices here were very reasonable compared to other Italian restaurants we looked up in the area. Overall great experience and we definitely would...
