Came here because I wanted to stop by Zero Express and I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of the food.
Now the restaurant itself is called China Star Express but they do serve Vietnamese pho as well and I LOVE pho. There are several kinds of pho bowls you can order and they come in either the small or large size. I chose to order the well done flank in a small size for $6.50 and found it rightly portioned for me. The condiments were perfect and I like how they also have sauces in the fridge.
My boyfriend opted for teriyaki chicken with fried rice and broccoli. For both entrees it only cost us $13 which is a pretty good deal if you ask me and the bowl was actually quite delicious as well.
Most people do opt for take out but there are several tables in the restaurant. They don't serve you because it's a counter, but it's small and cozy enough where you can just pick it up in a pinch.
Since I don't live in the area, I can't honestly say that I'll be coming back here for a second visit but it also wasn't the worst...
Read moreTasty food. Generous portions. Bargain pricing (under $10 including tax & drink). AND legit boba drinks! In addition, they offer slushes and various flavors of chewy jelly. China Star has been our local go-to place for years.
I usually see a lot of customer diversity. When we catered a party, many of our guests (Caucasian, Asian, Black, Hispanic, Indian) raved about the food. And their chow mein noodles are particularly delish, albeit a little greasy. (They look identical to other Chinese take-out noodles -- but trust me, there is a significant difference in flavor.)
I've tried so many Chinese take-out places over the years and in many different locales. And the food at almost every place looks better than it tastes. That's why you should give China Star a shot. Well... unless you LIKE bland food, I suppose.
I'm sure there must be other gems like China Star, but I haven't found them yet -- I'm just so thankful to have this one close by! If you give them a try, I hope you'll enjoy them as much as we have....
Read moreI got the two piece combo with rice and noodles and veggie rolls and teriyaki chicken with a free soda! It’s a special that they have from 3-6pm everyday I believe or it could just be Monday through Friday but I never seen a free coke with a meal before so this is a be ey good deal and I spent about $11.00 for the meal and free coke nothing! It saves me money and yummy food to eat for the price I would highly recommend to go and try it for yourself and go between those hours so you get a free drink. The parking is small and luckily I was able to find parking but it was around 3pm when I went so and be careful driving in as it’s a small...
