Mexihanas Hibachi Grill #2 — Restaurant in Long Beach

The atmosphere of this place sold it to almost immediately on walk-in. I love restaurants where they are not afraid of celebrating themselves and their success and walking the walk. Some of their tables have screen caps of their achievements and milestones etched into the table top itself. Very bold, but again, I love the statement.

When asked about their dishes, the lady inside (I forget her name now unfortunately) was extremely helpful in disseminating which items were a great first experience, so I choose one of her options - a surf and turf chicken and shrimp hibachi plate with mixed vegetables. Everything was cooked very well, including the veggies! They provide an slightly spicy aioli and a ginger shoyu sauce that I HIGHLY recommend using on the rice or your proteins.

Overall, I enjoyed myself immensely here, and upon finishing my food was given guidance by one of the staff members to order the #1 plate because of the value (it serves two and has a huge serving apparently), so I will take that into consideration when I return here. The flavor of the hibachi bowl was unbelievable! It was like a party in my mouth. Make sure to use the two sauces that come with the bowl. I added a little siracha and I was in heaven.

I have been driving by this place since it opened thinking I might try it some day. I wish I had gone in sooner! The $10 Hibachi bowl is a great value for the quality and flavor. You can upgrade for more protein if you are hungry, but I thought it was just the right amount for lunch. The steak in the bowl was real steak, they even ask how you want it cooked! The horchata was a bit pricey, but it was the best I have had for a long time. Really cool vibe in the restaurant as well.

We went for the first time today to this restaurant and left feeling very disappointed. The staff was nice but something went wrong and 2 groups of customers got served before us. So we decide to see why and the owner (who had fell sleep in his car after eating )was very confrontational after we brought up that we were obviously forgotten. He told us the people ahead of us ordered online and yelled out do you want your money back. We decided to get a refund and asked the customers that got served ahead of us if they ordered online, they said no they didn’t order online.
