Del Taco — Restaurant in Long Beach

If you want your order to come back so wrong it makes you question reality, this Del Taco is the place to be. I swear the staff here must be playing some twisted game of “How Wrong Can We Get It?” and spoiler alert: they’re winning every single time.

The cashier’s “confused mom face” deserves its own reality show — a mix of complete bafflement and utter disinterest that’s honestly impressive. It’s like they’ve never heard an order before, or maybe they’re just too busy perfecting their talent for ignoring customers.

As for management? I’m starting to think they’re either in on the joke or just allergic to accountability. Maybe they’re conducting a social experiment to see how many angry customers it takes before the place finally collapses under its own incompetence.

My fault. You see, I love Mexican food. Real Mexican cooking with real Mexicans doing the chef work. And I know that a fast food joint isn't going to compare to the real deal. But the way they slap this crappy food into tortillas and by doing so think they are feeding us well. Half way through my 2 tacos, fries and a Coke, I looked down at what was left and I just couldn't finish. My hunger was abated and my appetite was too.

My pledge: no more fast food. Especially ethnic food that has plenty of good restaurants presenting authentic cuisine that pleases my tummy. Friendy cashier. Fast service. Tacos are kind of pathetic (tiny and bland) so even at the 3 for $1 price on Tuesday, I don't feel like they are a bargain. No one really enjoyed them so I would not order them again. We did enjoy our been and cheese burritos, those are definitely worth the a buck. They also have $1 strawberry lemonade and ice coffee that were surprisingly tasty! French fries are pretty good too.
