Coastal Daiquiri Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Long Beach

Oh where to start so first of just moved to long beach me and my wife and daughter went in here approximately one month ago had to send food back they were so busy with orders and local drinkers they didn't cook the food, believe in 2nd chances went in the middle of day and what I believe was the owner or a manager man about 50's drugged out of his mind we ordered bucket of beer with not a soul in the restaurant except us staring at him for 20 mins waiting for a simple beer bucket till I finally went over to him startled him from his gaze into nothingness and told him I need that bucket, my daughters food was delivered before the beers! I called it quits on this place my wife liked there tacos so she convinced me to go back yet again! This time told to sit anywhere got daughter seated and server comes over and tells us this table is reserved and we need to move. this is a daiquiri bar talking about reservation on table hahaha So we move and get pretty good service from server food still left to be desired but saw a different manager on the way out who was speaking to a new hire I believe! I asked her for a word to give heads up on the things that need attention and she completely blows me off and continued her conversation!

Just a background I managed a 5 star restaurant in Carolina beach for 5 years and have 14 years experience in service industry and I can tell u besides all the things I would never disregard a customer telling my information about my restaurant! Food is food Service is OK management is the worst. if your a middle aged drunk this is the place for u families beware this was final...

We had family in town and this place was suggested to us for a fun night and good food. Neither of those statements were true. I ordered the Nacho's for the table and wanted everything that came on it Our waiter came out with chips and cheese that looked like it was scood out of a bucket. After seeing that I was ready to leave. I asked where the other ingredients were and the waiter said " we aren't allowed to put them on the Nacho's, but I can bring you the ingredients and you can make it. 🤔🤔🤔"

Our guest asked if they can make a Lemon drop martini. The waiter said yes they can. After the bartender googled it, they came out with a lemon drop shot. 🤔. Our guests had ordered food and asked for silverware from the waiter and the person who was delivering our food. Took 10 minutes to get it.

Music was way to loud. We asked to go to the second floor, but because we had a group of 8. They wouldn't allow us upstairs.

Buttttt to start everything off. We had called for a reservation. That reservation was not relayed to anyone else I guess, because when we showed up. They didn't have a table for us. We were told you can go out there and pick a table.

My sister in-law left our table to run across the street to Harbour view Cafe to see if they could take us. We would have gone, but our guests had already ordered the food. Once they were done eating. We left immediately and actually ate at the Half shell. (Amazing...

This was not only a random choice from a spontaneous afternoon ride, it wasn't even the restaurant we actually stopped to eat at, as they were on the opposing corner, and told us they were closed when we walked in, which as it turns out, was a good thing. If those folks hadn't turned us away, we'd have missed out on some good food, great ambiance, & awesome view of the Gulf. Food wise, the better 1/2 had the Catfish, and it was good size filets, that were seasoned & cooked perefectly, though be warned they had a lil cajun in dat seasoning. I ob the other hand, reluctantly picked the Pulled Pork BBQ Sandwich, and was pleasantly surprised with it, in that the pulled pork itself was really good, though they could have put a tad more of it on there, but it straight up was a good sandwich. I do wish places like this would have a BBQ Sauce that was actually hot, or some real hot sauce that you could add yourself, but they are not alone here, as most don't. The only real complaint I have, is that they did not have the first Dark Beer on the menu, and the beer I did order came out at almost room temp.

In the short, if you are near Long Beach, and find yourself wanting something to eat, you'd do well to treat yourself to a good meal with good service, & a great view right here. I know we'll be back.

Oh, and did I mention their prices were good, for both portion size & quality...
