The Juicy Caboosy — Restaurant in Long Beach

We were so excited to try this place but we were very disappointed. When we arrived there were no other customers there. The cashier was not friendly. She wasn't quite rude, but her demeanor made it clear that we were interrupting her. I said that we were in a big hurry and asked what could we get that was quick? How long would an acai bowl take? She said 5 minutes. Okay, I can do ten minutes. So I ordered two. She exchanged no pleasantries, offered no smile, just took my money and shut the window. We were still the only customers there and I could see three people moving around in the caboose. FIFTEEN minutes later (remember I mentioned being in a hurry and asked how long my food would take before I ordered), she finally opened the window and wordlessly handed me a bag. No "Have a nice day!" No "I'm sorry this look a little while." Not even a "Here's your order." How rude! By this point I was annoyed, so I didn't say anything either, I just took my food and left.

The food was fine. It was okay. Like I said, I got two acai bowls. For the very large price, I expected more of the toppings, which were rather scant, but it tasted just fine. I've had better. And frankly, the food was not stellar enough to warrant putting up with high prices and such terrible customer service.

I'm very sad to say we will not be back. Very sad. One of my kids is obsessed with trains and I was so excited to see this was right here...

I have been 3 times since opening. The location and establishment are very nice. They offer yard games and options for shade. The staff are courteous. Unfortunately the food and beverages are where they fall short. My son ordered a smoothie and said it was excellent. My son is 12 and felt the price was high for the small smoothie he received. I have ordered spicy margarita and Watermelon Strawberry lemonade. Both were very bland and tasted watered down. Again, I felt the price was high. I have tried a chicken nacho, Spur and Bandit Burger. All were bland, the bread was stale and overpriced. I also find it frustrating they do not stay open for the posted hours. I have shown up at 8:15 on a Friday and they are completely closed down even though their website says they are open until 10. I even went for a recent event with a BBQ business and they were closed 2 hours early. I really want to support this small business, but I doubt I...

The food was so terrible I’m speechless. I had the chicken gyro bowl and he had the Greek bowl with chicken. $40 worth of trash. The chicken was verrry dry and crusty so obviously old and should not be served (the chicken had been sliced before storage so each piece had visable crusty dryness on it. You can look at it and think “this is inedible”). The rice was very old too. Inedible unless you wanted to chip your teeth. I’m not exaggerating. And it wasn’t just one piece of rice that was hard. It was all of the rice. I don’t even know how they had the thought that it was acceptable to put this food on a plate and serve it. I won’t be back. I powered through and ate the chicken because I was starving. I should have turned away when I saw no one else was there. Dead restaurant on a Saturday at lunch time..red flag. But I’ve been wanting to try the place so oh well...
