I had a mostly good experience with a few areas for improvement.
The restaurant has a great outdoor covered patio with a fantastic view of the Gulf, which will be even better once the beach construction is finished. The dining room was clean with plenty of seating. Service was friendly, and my food came out quickly—about 10 minutes after ordering.
I ordered the California Burrito, which I’d rate a 3/5. The steak pieces were too large, making them chewy, and I wish they had more flavor. The chips and salsa were fine, but they serve the salsa in a disposable one-time-use ramekin, which seemed unnecessary. Prices are on the higher side but not extreme. They’re currently switching menus, so the menu was temporarily on paper.
One odd thing is that it’s a full-service restaurant, but you pay at the counter. Parking is definitely an issue—the spaces are so small that as I was leaving, I watched a car pull into a spot, then immediately have to reverse back out so everyone could open their doors and get out before they reparked. It was funny to watch, but also kind of frustrating because it shows how tight the parking is.
The music choice was also a little unexpected—AC/DC at a Mexican restaurant. It felt out of place, but depending on your taste, it could be a pro or a con.
Overall, it’s a solid spot with great service, fast decent food, and a fantastic view. Some minor tweaks to the food, parking, and a few operational details could improve the experience even more. I’d consider coming back, especially once the beach construction...
Read moreMy family & I are in long beach for vacation & we were severely mislead by the reviews & pictures of this establishment. The food was bland , over priced & just distasteful. The service was just as bad as the food , we were the only people in there for what should have been the first part of our meal , but it took nearly 15 mins for the bar drinks (which were watered down & flat)to be delivered, 10 minutes to get our waters & sodas ( the wrong drinks were brought more than once ) & our apps were delayed as well, the queso was subpar , the guacamole was just a hardly smashed avocado served with a lemon… The food came out at a decent time but the pre bussing was non existent & she only asked once if we needed anything. As more people arrived it was harder to get her attention for boxes & the check. Our check for 7 was over 200+ & it was definitely not worth it. The atmosphere was dead silent & the restaurant smelled HEAVYLY of cleaning products but somehow was still very dirty & uninviting… We still tipped a decent percent but it wasn’t really deserved. If you’re lookin for good authentic mexican food this is definitely not the spot. 0/10 The pictures on the website do not represent this food quality at all , we were...
Read moreMy husband & I have just recently started to frequent Juan’s. I love how convenient the location is. Right off of Highway 90. The staff is always friendly & polite. Their menu is pretty big so you’ll have plenty to choose from. Our new go to is the Sampler Appetizer. This comes with chicken flautitas, steak and chicken quesadillas, mixed protein nachos, queso, guacamole, pico de gallo & sour cream. The chicken flautitas are absolutely delicious! I could eat those things every day & not get tired of them. Everything on the plate is great & it only costs $14.90 My husband & I split this & leave with full bellies every time. They also have two for one margaritas in case you feel like kicking back & indulging in a few adult beverages. Juan’s has also recently upgraded their outdoor dining area so if you want to sit outside & get a great view of the beach while you eat they have the place for it. I absolutely recommend Juan Tequilas whenever you’re craving some delicious authentic...
