Super Mex Restaurants — Restaurant in Long Beach

Solid food and rapid service.

Their bean & cheese burrito is the tastiest and most expensive I've had - but I get it almost every time! I sometimes change it up it's the standard carnitas burrito, also delicious. The Super Mex salsa is top notch (in my opinion) - especially if you let it sit a day or two. This take-out location rocks the salsa verde that I destroy all to easily: with chips or dumped on my bites of burrito. I just prefer my own chips... (esp the Big Saver chips cooked in coconut oil). The salsa bar also helps when you aren't content with what salsa they do give you (usually only included in the bag with $15 or more purchase).

Me loving the food and fast service (I call and then drive to pick-up: ready when I arrive) is one thing but so does my family so we're here all the time. Of the five Super Mex locations that are within a short drive for me, this is the best that serves the food we order... and it's not the closest.

So, while I go out of my way to frequent this Jr Mex (partly for the salsa verde that others don't offer), thank you to those who didn't like it and are avoiding it - it'll keep the service quick...

Called on Sunday, 3/19/2023 at approximately 2:30 p.m. to place a phone order but no one answered the phone. I hung up and called back three more times; still no one answered. I drove to the location, walked inside with my phone still calling the restaurant, and the woman working (receipt shows her name is "Altagarcia") stood there and still did not answer the phone. I asked her how long it was going to take her to answer the phone and she responded, "I'm not answering the phone because I'm busy and working by myself." There was ONE other customer in the restaurant on his way out. The right thing to do would have been to answer the phone and place the call on a brief hold. Instead, this "Altagarcia" purposely did not answer the phone and lost out on potentially three different customers for this business. I'm baffled that SuperMex would condone this type of poor service. This employee clearly doesn't care about earing profit for SuperMex and has a clearly idle work-ethic. Altagarcia is rude, dismissive, and irreverent. I will be sharing this experience with the corporation...

I moved into this area and Super Mex was the first place we tried. The service was decent and the nachos were great! We kept going and everytime we were disappointed of the food and service. We were there yesterday and we'll never go back again. I understand it was Father's day but the waitress took forever to show up at least for recognition of our precense. We were about to leave when finally she took our order... After at least one hour later the food showed up and then we had to wait for utensils and we had to ask 5 times for a drink before it was brought to the table... I have been in the business cause I owned my own restaurant till I retired a year ago, but this day I will...
