What a discovery. Possibly the biggest buffet I've ever been to after years of being away from the buffet game. My friend and I came upon it by chance and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. As the name Hokkaido (northernmost island of Japan) suggested, the buffet claims it serves "Japanese, Chinese and American cuisine" and man they weren't kidding. From freshly cooked noodles and meats on a griddle to freshly made sushi plus a ton of other dishes and desserts one can find a whole smorgasbord that represent California's eclectic mix. The selection is impressive. I must say the food was tasty and fresh. Maybe the fact that the joint was hopping contributed to the food constantly being refilled/replaced. If I ever need to go down to Long Beach, I will stop by again. The space is huge, so a large party can easily be accomodated. The price around $20 (weekend rate?) a head isn't bad considering how much freedom you have to choose your own dining destiny.

Decided to visit this location to enjoy dinner in nice rainy evening, upon entering I was not greeted, so I had to start the conversation which was a bit off for me. I came during Dinner for the $22.99 charge and ended up being charged $34, I was told it was for tip ahead of time, and other processing fees. Food was ok, not concitent but it is to be expectedmfrom a buffet, what was the most bothering to me was that not ONCE did a waiter approach my table, refill my drinks, or collected my plates. What is the point of charging tips ahead of time if there will be no server service. Overall for the price, quality, and experience, I will not be returning to this location. Also beware of where you park, they allowed homeless vehicles to park in their lot and heard screams shouting and arguments along with drug use in the parking location where this homeless folks were parked, not sure why management allows it in private property.

Warning, do not go here! You will be very disappointed. The food is mediocre but even a regular Chinese buffet for less would've been better. They advertise "seafood buffet" but it's really not. We read the reviews before going and thought it wouldn't be that bad, but it was THAT BAD. It's true, they do give you one ticker per person for the Lobster. We thought, okay, one lobster is enough anyways since we will just eat crablegs... Well, there weren't any crablegs. And the lobster was so tiny and overcooked it was just rubbery at that point. It would've been maybe 2 stars if there were fried shrimp and decent sushi, but there weren't any shrimp and the sushi was so old and did not look appetizing so we skipped it. Overall, would not recommend to go here. Just skip this place and go somewhere else, plenty of other places to choose from.

$13.99 for weekday lunch. 10% gratuity automatically added. You pay before entry. Come with low expectations. Okay food, but horrible environmental conditions. Some “warm” entrees were cold. Freshly cooked hibachi/teppanyaki was good. I liked their shrimp ceviche and edamame. Staff only cleared plates and refilled drinks at the end of our meal. Environment was gross. Table extremely sticky. Husband said the men’s restroom had only half functioning toilets, toilet paper all over, and there was a puddle on the floor upon entry. When you looked through the back kitchen (since there was no door), there were puddles of water there, too. Saw some screws/nails in the parking lot that I had to discard for safety concerns for vehicle tires and those wearing thin soled shoes. SMH.

My first time at Hokkaido Seafood buffet and I’ll be back. The staff was friendly and diligent at clearing our plates, topping off our drinks and providing extra napkins. There were tons of choices from sushi, Chinese, Mongolian, Cajun, etc. There’s a 4 or 5 tier chocolate fountain in the dessert section.
