What a discovery. Possibly the biggest buffet I've ever been to after years of being away from the buffet game. My friend and I came upon it by chance and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. As the name Hokkaido (northernmost island of Japan) suggested, the buffet claims it serves "Japanese, Chinese and American cuisine" and man they weren't kidding. From freshly cooked noodles and meats on a griddle to freshly made sushi plus a ton of other dishes and desserts one can find a whole smorgasbord that represent California's eclectic mix. The selection is impressive. I must say the food was tasty and fresh. Maybe the fact that the joint was hopping contributed to the food constantly being refilled/replaced. If I ever need to go down to Long Beach, I will stop by again. The space is huge, so a large party can easily be accomodated. The price around $20 (weekend rate?) a head isn't bad considering how much freedom you have to choose your own dining destiny.

Decided to visit this location to enjoy dinner in nice rainy evening, upon entering I was not greeted, so I had to start the conversation which was a bit off for me. I came during Dinner for the $22.99 charge and ended up being charged $34, I was told it was for tip ahead of time, and other processing fees. Food was ok, not concitent but it is to be expectedmfrom a buffet, what was the most bothering to me was that not ONCE did a waiter approach my table, refill my drinks, or collected my plates. What is the point of charging tips ahead of time if there will be no server service. Overall for the price, quality, and experience, I will not be returning to this location. Also beware of where you park, they allowed homeless vehicles to park in their lot and heard screams shouting and arguments along with drug use in the parking location where this homeless folks were parked, not sure why management allows it in private property.

I liked the restaurant. Typical Chinese Japanese style buffet restaurant. Clean and cozy. But I think the branch in Glendale is better than the Long Beach. has all the favourite items that is common in these types of restaurants. I enjoyed having the different types of susi and poke to offer. Their main course like orange chicken, beef and broccoli, coconut shrimp, chowmean, spicy fish, baked salmon etc are all my favorite. My daughter loves the murshmello and chocolate fountain. There are a lot of variety of fresh fruit, baked dessert and ice cream. Also occasionally they have crab in menu. For the price you pay for all the food that is offered is very reasonable. I enjoyed the meat section of the restaurant as well. There was choice of good pork sausage, beef roast and pork roast which tasted very yummy. Also I liked the baked shrimp with cheese - this was something new that I had tried. There were some cheese and pork wantons and they were really delicious. I think the variety of sushi in this restaurant was amazing, almost 10-15 different types in offer including fried sushi.they have a very good bar on site and you can order beer, sake and cocktails from the bar. I had tried the margarita and that was also good. Overall the place was clean and the waiters were prompt to attend you and clear up the plates form the table. Only thing I missed here is the large shrimp prepared with salt and garlic that is very common in these types...

Such a disappointing and uncomfortable experience. There was this particular pair of servers that kept pointing and staring down our table (we were there for a max of 2 hours). Every time they walked past us they would look at us with a scowl or an unwarranted disgusted face, then regroup and start gossiping while obnoxiously laughing. They did all this while ignoring other guests who needed refills and their plates taken away. We sat in the corner but they still went out of their way to make our experience unpleasant. The female server had her phone out while taking our plate away, which I assume was to take a picture. Anytime the male service stood against the wall, he would glance at my daughter to the point that she was so disturbed she had to change her seat. I am shocked and sad to have been treated this way; never have I ever been treated so horribly at a buffet. Also, they automatically add a 10% tip (typically I would leave 20% after the meal) to your bill when you walk in, so you would expect acceptable service, but that was not the case. If the service wasn’t bad enough, the food is also below average. They don’t keep the food warm so by the time it gets on your plate, its already cold. Lost my appetite within the first plate and left with a stomach ache—there’s definitely also some sanitary concerns. An absolute waste of money and time. Will never recommend or...

Ah.... NO ! Unfortunately, rude unhappy people work at this place. Especially the management. Getting a beverage is difficult because they don't have enough staff to serve the customers. Getting refills on your drinks takes forever, too. Not the staff's fault, just poor management.

The quality of their food is mediocre, at best. Lots of empty dishes that never seem to get filled. Mislabeled dishes make deciding what to eat a bit difficult when you aren't familiar with what you are looking for.

They need to hire a cleaning crew and shampoo the carpet. It's just dirty. That's probably why it's intentionally dark in there - even during the day. Makes you wonder how clean it is where they prepare the food. Didn't see any roaches, like a previous reviewer wrote, but did see other bugs in the restaurant.

Management doesn't like to be advised of these things and becomes rude and defensive. I merely pointed out a few things, so they would be able to correct the situation. But, I instead of listening, and thanking me for trying to help them improve business, I was met with and aggression and rudeness. Don't they know that this type of attitude and behavior towards your customers drives away business, or don't they realize that ? Again, poor management !

I'm not going back anymore. Very disturbing and disappointing to...
