Had breakfast with my son after running a half in Long Beach. We wanted some good post run eats but nothing heavy or regretful. Googled breakfast spots and came across Small Cafe.

The wait was less than 10 mins, the staff was super friendly and very accommodating and the place was packed! The tables were covered with white paper so you can doodle with crayons while you sit and wait.

Their menu options are enough to satisfy the pickiest of eaters as they pretty much have something for everyone.

I had the Farmers omelet (veggie omelet) with ground beef and avocados and it was delish! Very hearty but light. My son had the Spud which has hash browns mixed with meat, egg, and some veggies. Both dishes were nicely portioned. I was only able to eat half.

We were both pretty happy with our meals. I'll definitely return. Small Cafe does big thangs! Check them out if you're ever in Naples of the LBC....

It was our first time at this cafe. The cafe was under staffed today and full of people. But we decided to wait anyway. Understandably we knew that it was a going to be a while. We waited about 40min until we got a table for 2. We were of course greeted and right away ordered our drinks. We patiently waited and eventually had our food ordered and just took in the ambience and vibe. I could see the servers were very attentive to other customers and the hostess was pitching in cleaning and setting tables. I could see the team effort. Our table had a little basket with creamers and sugars and Crayons! The "table cloth" was actually a large white piece of paper, so I took the opportunity to doodle while we waited for our food. Eventually we got our food, and it looked great. The portions were large and perfect, and the taste was even better. It made the waiting worth it. I'll...

We dropped by the Small Cafe for our first dinner there. A friendly greeting from Jake awaited us.. We have dined outside since the Pandemic and were pleased they have a patio. The evening being brisk, we were the only ones wishing to eat outside. Our request was happily granted, and a patio heater was ignited by our table. The menu, in the process of evolving, nevertheless had selections we found desirable. My gf had a glass of white wine and the garden burger with cheddar cheese and 1000 island dressing, accompanied by crispy fries. She was quite pleased with her selections. I began with a sparkling water and a dinner salad, which was more interesting and tasty than your average mixed greens. I followed that with the bacon-wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy. Deelish. A trio of wonderful dessert samples finished off the dinner. We intend to return and...

Don't discount this little gem in Long Beach. Belmont Shore has a variety of eateries to choose from. This unassuming cafe is indeed small but not without merit. They put out a super tasty corned beef hash. I wouldn't really describe it as a hash though. It's just pure corned beef, forget the bell peppers and onions that sometimes obscure the flavor, over a bed of perfectly done hash browns. Coffee is good. Service can sometimes be spotty due how busy it is. The spaces are tight both inside and for parking. Expect to wait for seating during peak hours, but still worth a visit.
