For many it is an unknown bar and place for live entertainment tucked away in Long Branch. It's on the verge of being considered a dive bar or just dark which is fine with me..in fact it's my preference... people that go there are extremely cool some eclectic artsy and have good taste in music... drinks there are fairly reasonably priced but mixed drinks are not very big and their pour is " just ok" - its what they were taught, I'm told... anyway while the drinks are okay ...fir me at Brighton Bar its about seeing entertainment that I love about this place... it could be open mic night or you can have an up and coming or has been band there or who knows maybe a pretty famous artist or band playing there... a lot of the bands that play there play original material.- and that can be a good thing.. and at the same time I was delighted and enjoyed seeing a Cure cover band and Smith's cover band playing together in the same night at this venue... 2 years ago saw an older favorite CA punk like band of mine (Tsunami Bomb) play there and that made me rather happy. If you look at the wall or Hall of Fame of all the artists and bands that played there you would be pretty darn impressed and you probably wouldn't even know that they did play there. Grateful for this place , will definitely continue to patronize it as we need places like this to survive and thrive during covid times for fun and great music. Highly recommend-...
Read moreCame here see the Scott Weiland cover band Contraband and the music was every bit what I was hoping for but this bar was horrible, I do not recommend. The bar tender Julie charged my boyfriend $17 for 2 beers that were supposed to be $6 each. She obviously gave us the wrong change. Pretty much to sum it up easily they refused to give us the change they so clearly miscounted and when I asked to speak with the manager or owner they told me he was not in so I asked for his name and number along with their names and just got extreme attitude from the terribly unprofessional staff. We became so aggravated and left, on the way out I asked the bouncer for the name of the owner and each of the bar tenders. Greg, the other bar tender who I had told that someone miscounted our change was actually the owner the entire time and flat out lied to my face to not have to deal with his own employees mistake. If it wasn't for the inconsiderate and rude people running the joint, I'd consider going back. This place is a flop but I love music so I tried it out. Will never go back. Don't waste your money on scum bag bar tenders and terrible ownership. Go somewhere else for a...
Read moreThese shots are of Kevin Daly and Pat Conley who together make up the Daly Rituals who played at the The Brighton Bar last night. Now I don't know if y'all know this, but the Brighton serves great food on Fridays and Saturdays.
They got a nice Italian menu and its real "earthy" food, what my father used to call "peasant food"--the good stuff, the comfort food, meatballs and sketti and sausage, meat sauce, I had a nice chicken francaise which was quite good...they have a nice pasta fagioli, the food is good.
If you're lookin' for a place to get a little dinner and go see some live music, on a Friday or Saturday night, the The Brighton Bar is a nice little...
