Brooklyn Pizza — Restaurant in Long Hill Township

I came in here during prime lunch time and the place looked depressing. There were maybe 14 total slices of pizza out and available for purchase - all mix and matched leftovers from previous pies. They had nothing fresh coming out or even baking in the oven. I’m used to walking into a pizzeria and being greeted by a bunch of different types of pizzas, Stromboli’s, garlic knots, etc… but this place hardly even looked like the intention was for it to be a functioning food establishment. I was charged close to $10 for two subpar, smaller than average slices - a regular sausage slice and a chicken bacon ranch slice. Didn’t even buy a drink. The woman working the counter stuck my slices in the oven to heat up for all of maybe 15 seconds and they were cold again by the time I got to my car. The food from Brooklyn Pizza is among the best take-out in this area of NJ. We've lived in New Providence and Gillette for 26 years and Brooklyn Pizza's delicious Grandma's Pizza, hot heroes, pastas, and appetizers are great each time - and the kitchen & register/phone staff work hard and are super nice. We've lived in the 1980s and '90s in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens and we've never "experienced" a Grandma's Pizza until we found THIS Brooklyn. I tell my friends living in NY that Jersey pizza is as good if not better than anything you get in Manhattan, Queens and - aye, fuggedabout it- get on the Turnpike and check out Brooklyn Pizza in Sterling and you may be moving to the Garden State soon enough!...

We were looking forward to trying a new place. Placed an order through Slice and the order was accepted. About 25 minutes after the order was placed, the restaurant called us and cancelled the order. They also told us to call Slice ourselves, they could not do anything, even though it was them that cancelled the order.We understand that delivery on a Saturday night might be difficult, but we feel we should have been compensated in some way. They were not accommodating at all, we thought as a new restaurant they would at least offer a coupon for their mistake. They were very rude, and no apologies were made.
