Cool place. There aren’t many trendy restaurants out there and this place had a nice vibe and great music. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the food was great but I definitely think the burgers could be a little bigger. The burgers to the bun, disproportionate. The buns are great, but it was a bit too much bread for my liking, therefore, a bigger burger would solve that problem. Our server was attentive, but it was strange because multiple people were trying to help us throughout our stay there and it was confusing as to who we were supposed to ask for help. Also, it was annoying when we were asked every 7 mins if we wanted a box for our food. We ordered beers and burgers and just wanted to chat, relax, and peacefully eat; which we did, but the box situation was obnoxious—if we said no the first three times then we will let you know when we are ready, we weren’t even done with our food, nor did we look like we were ready to leave. Oh and I was also irritated when we split the bill and when he returned he forgot who the cards belonged to; the server tried to guess which cards were which, and handed us the wrong credit cards back. My card was the AMEX Gold Card and hers was a visa, he gave me the visa and her my AMEX. Which wasn’t a big deal, but the assumption was sheer stupidity: just ask whose card it is instead of assuming, it can prevent a whole deal of tension and provide a better experience. I’m giving this two stars because of that last part and the situation with the box and the multiple people attending to us. Main highlight though: if you don’t know whose card it is, you are better off just placing the checkbooks on the table and saying thank you or just asking. I’m not white so did you automatically assume that the person who owned the AMEX card was the white person who I was with because AMEX is associated with a higher status quo , but having a higher status quo isn’t supposed to be associated with race now is it? I’m unsure, but just to rule it out, don’t guess, place our checkbooks on the table or ask. It was just ignorant, I pay for an experience and didn’t appreciate that. This place obviously has a bit more work to do with their logistics, figure it out. I’ll be back, but hopefully I have a better experience next time so I can update this review, it was unfortunate because they’ve definitely got a cool...
Read moreIt hurts my heart that I am just now experiencing this establishment. My family and I recently went here in November, and the food was outrageous. The smoked meatloaf, crock of chili and French onion soup were superb. Because of the flavors and hard work that went into those dishes, because you knew they were not just the normal flavors they were well executed, because of this I knew we would be back. Today in January 2024, we returned, and again the food was out of this world. I enjoyed for an appetizer, the calamari that had a curry sauce , on the bottom of the bowl that had flavors, no one would know went well together except a culinary genius . My dinner was the shrimp and grits. If I could explain my happiness in words, I would, but there will never be any words for the shrimp and grits that came out of that kitchen. I told our waiter that whoever is in the kitchen whether it be one executive chef or the entire team, they are doing a phenomenal job and I look forward to going back and trying the next incredible dish. It’s appears that everything coming from that kitchen is built with greatness and the kitchen staff should be very proud. If I was the owner of this place and had food coming out of the kitchen that delicious I would be a happy camper. The waiters and waitresses do not take a back step either. They are comforting, and are there for you with whatever you need. They work together during the entire dinner service so that the customer has an outstanding experience. Keep up the great work and the amazing food. To the owner: please don’t change a thing as far as your staff goes and just let your chefs keep creating magic. I thank you for the amazing quality and flavors in the food. Also the smokehouse smell upon entering is a great invitation to what you are about...
Read moreGreat service but awful customer experience from management. We were really looking forward to coming here; heard great things. Staff were great- friendly, fast service, and very welcoming. The issue is with management. We ordered two draft beers and when the server delivered them he said we got the last two pours. One draft looked normal but one you could tell right away had zero carbonation and looked very flat, which it was. We didn’t drink the flat beer and alerted the server and ordered different beers. The server apologized and said he would take the flat beer off the bill. The bill comes and we’re charged for the flat beer, which was one of their more expensive beers. We paid, but when we asked the server what happened he said he had asked his manager and was told it was “too expensive of a pour” to remove from our bill. So, even though the beer was flat and undrinkable, and we could clearly tell because we had another draft of the same beer to compare it to, we had to pay. Very disappointing and as someone who works in customer service and has a lot of experience working in restaurants, this was the first time I’ve ever heard that lame excuse. So, I’m writing this review to caution those who go and experience any defective menu items: be prepared to...
