Today I drove from Whitehouse,TX to go get a few desert for my family. I walk into the restaurant and stood in front of the cash register waiting patiently on the customer in front of me giving her order. Well she stood back so that I could order and three ladies at the register look at me then turn their backs discussing whatever. I just stood there and the lady that just gave her order said excuse me...to the ladies behind the counter said yes ma'am. She said this woman(me) have been standing here for about 2min and no one acknowledged her. The ladies then said oh we was discussing things about our manager. The lady then proceeded to say well thats not important you have a customer. I look at the lady and said thank you! The only reason I stood there because I literally drove 35 plus miles just for this place. Well the first thing I told the lady I wanted strawberry cheese cake and a white butter cream cake. So the lady goes toward the butter cream cake and I said again ma'am I also want the strawberry cheesecake as well. She just ignored me and went toward the other cake. The whole reason I basically went was for the strawberry cheesecake cake. Well I again I said I wanted the cheese cake. Seeing that it was only one left I ask again, because a man came in and said he wanted the cheesecake. So the lady that was helping me said for some reason I don't see the cheesecake. The other lady that hear me say it three times sold it to the guy that came in. Long story short the guy was so nice and he was willing to cut me a piece. I told him that was nice of him,but it not his fault I got ignored three times. So it was very disappointing that I drove that far. I was there on time and yet I got screwed for poor customer service. The sad part was I didn't get and apology from the young lady that heard me say that I wanted it. No I got and eyes rolling for saying that it wasn't right I got ignored. She didn't act remorseful or anything. She just was like oh well. The lady that was helping me somewhat gave and apology after I told her how far I drove. Yes it would of been okay if I didn't call ahead of time. I was told yes we have it and I let them know I was on my way. It just a little...
Read moreThis edit is in response to Butcher Shop's request for detail in regards to my last visit:
I'll preface by stating that this isn't my first visit to Butcher Shop. I'm not sure if the primary identity of this establishment is a bakery, or if it's a burger joint. However, I personally categorize this place as primarily a burger joint. I've been to this establishment quite a few times over the years, and the views expressed in this review are of my own personal experience.
The main issue was the food.
The burger was overcooked to a dry consistency and was fairly bland, as if salt was completely omitted from the patty. The fries that accompanied were a soggy, oily mess. While the fries have never been the highlight of Butcher Shop (in my personal opinion, of course), they were more disappointing than usual this time. The chili offered at the condiment bar was mostly broth, and also tasted bland. These two issues with the chili made for a disappointment in this item as well. The black forest cake bar we had after the meal had a frosting that had somehow become very firm, dry, and tacky in texture, and the bread of the cake bar itself was dry as well. The dessert, however, doesn't factor much into my rating for Butcher Shop, as, like I stated earlier, I categorize this place more as a burger joint.
There were quite a few tables sitting with garbage on them (some people apparently don't bus their own tables, as I assume is the norm for this establishment), and weren't cleaned by the staff during the duration of our visit.
I usually enjoy the atmosphere of Butcher Shop. I've had decent experiences there before, as well as similar ones to this last visit. As such, I've rated this establishment with 3 stars; reflective of the average of my own personal...
Read moreI never thought that I would be writing a bad review to this place. Since I moved to this town, I had always bought all the birthday cakes here. The taste and the freshness of their cakes are exceptional. The cakes that I had purchase are the ones that they have on display, I had never order one. Last weekend I ordered a cake for my sister’s in law baby shower. I had some ideas and I showed them what I wanted. I know that the pictures that I showed them, the cakes where made with fondant and they only work with buttercream. I asked them if they where able to do the design in buttercream and they said yes. Apparently, here they live by the moto “the customer is always right” and not always is the case. I would’ve loved that someone would had called me and said “ Mam, we are sorry but what you had in mind is not working, it doesn’t look good”. I would’ve appreciated the honesty and professionalism. When I picked up the cake I notice that the employee made a face like something was not right. But then they came out with the cake on a big box, and I didn’t have the chance to see the whole cake before I left. I got home and when I took the cake out of the box, the design was horrible; it look like a poor and bad done design, like the person who made it didn’t know how to do it. What really bothers me is the shadiness of all this. The employees knew it didn’t look good and that it was not what we payed for. I would’ve expected more, because it was not cheap cake. I’m very disappointed and I learned not to pre order a personalized...
