Italy's Restaurant & Pizza — Restaurant in Lopatcong Township

I live very close to italy's and buy from the often so I know the menu. Tonight i ordered a steak roll w sauce on the side, lg pie and lg fries. The pizza and fries were great, kids loved it but my steak roll was no steak roll. More like a steak sandwich on the in house bread and it tasted nothing like anything I've ever had there. Bread wasn't fresh, steak had no flavor, very little cheese and was very greasy. Every time i bit into it the grease ran down my chin. Very disappointing since I've ordered from this place since they were on roseberry street. UPDATE 6/17/2024 !!!!!!!!! Ordered sauteed spinach * Cream of broccoli soup * Antipasto * For this salad you really don't need the hard boiled egg and the spicy pickled veggies hiding under that picture perfect salad pic. They sent out coupons for a family meal for $21.99 for a plain pizza, 10 small wings and a soda. so I decided to give them a try. What a mistake. Called and confirmed my order and that the coupon was good on the phone and the young man said it was. However when I got there the total was $38. When I asked why he initially responded "tax". When I said I had the coupon for 21.99 he showed they had brand new menus with the same thing for $35.99. Outrageous for the dinner quality pizza and wings. When I asked to speak with the owner he informed me that oh prices went up and took the coupon with him. I'm not sure whether it's a restaurant in need of money having to jack up the prices or the old bait and switch but I will not be going back here and I can't say I would recommend them at all. If you see Burger King take The Jug Handle and find this place because it's well worth it. Our family sat down at the table the waitress was very nice to get our drinks a big basket of fresh bread with butter was delicious while we waited for our order. You can't go wrong with the panini, cheese steak special or even if you in there for a pizza pie. Obviously the place is a little vintage but that's because it's been around for a long time. If you're not happy with your food or service say something to the owner or waitress.
