While the food is good, somewhat expensive, I am a frequent foodie at Caveman. So why the one Star? Well, I ordered their Chicken for our Thanksgiving Lunch at work as I wanted my coworkers to enjoy a good meal as a "Thank you" for their hard work. I spoke to Nelson to inquire as to how much it would cost to order enough Chicken with It's sides for 25 people. Now mind you, I naively assumed I would get a break on the cost as it's a lot of Food I am ordering. Well, I didn't, however, i still ordered as I must admit the chicken is good and well it was not a big deal. The reason for the ONE STAR, they refused to provide utensils or plates, I was asked to pay. I told the young lady I spoke to that "ok no problem on the plates you don't have to send any", however, can you send me forks?" She put me on hold and came back and said that it would be a $5.00 charged, I asked her if they give orders to go utensils and she said yes, however, for my order it would be a $5.00 charge, I asked what is the difference between my to go order and the rest, she said they did not have enough to give me. Yet they had enough to charge me?Needless to say, I will NEVER order food for my employees not will I be back to spend my money no matter how good the food is. Customer Service is key to keeping business and even though my business may not be missed, I am sure another restaurant would...
Read moreCashier threw receipt to trashcan before offering to give the receipt to me. I asked her where was my receipt and she said “in the trash can. Oh you wanted your receipt?” I said yes and she took it out of the trashcan and handed it over to me. I was surprised of such behavior. Her attitude was a bad start and I began to feel unwelcome. My mom found a table and called me over. I explained to her what had happened and she said let’s wait for the food I’m hungry. I wasn’t too sure to stay however, we decided to wait for the food. Once’s the food had arrived the presentation seemed so appetizing and all I wanted was to get closer to my food plate. I took a good sniff over my plate and it was not what I expected. The food was marinated in a loud flavor that was covering up what we call in Spanish “chuquillo” a smell that the meat releases when is starting to go bad. I was nauseated immediately. It was so obvious of the nasty smell mixing up with so much flavor. I told my mom to smell the food before trying it because my was not good. She checked her food as well and she got so upset. She immediately called over somebody to alarm them. And they spoke with chefs and perhaps it was a bad batch we received. We were no longer comfortable there. We were afraid to get sick. They gave us a refund and...
Read moreAre you a big fan of Peruvian food? lomo saltado? rotisserie chicken? This place is the place for you. I have try both the lomo saltado (beef, fries, mushroom, tomato and rice) and saltado de mariscos (seafood, fries, mushroom, tomato and rice). They are both good in it own way. you just have to try them. The rotisserie chickens are pretty juicy. Each place is about $11- $12 and with drink it could be around $15, not the cheapest, but once in awhile is not so bad. They also give student discount if you show them your student ID, 20% off which is not bad. The only reason why I give them 4 star is because they are really stingy with the rice. I always have to order extra rice which cost $2 more, which is pricey more a small bowl of rice....
