Ceviche Project — Restaurant in Los Angeles

A MUST for any seafood lover ! Perfect date night spot, unique flavor profiles and some of the best ceviche I’ve ever had !

They have a nice lot at the back with ample parking which is fantastic ! The place is small, if you’re seated outside it’s extremely loud due to the cars but once seated inside the ambiance transformed. Sam was serving all the tables and was very accommodating to us switching locations which was very nice.

Now on to the food: fresh , clean seafood that really tastes top quality. We absolutely loved everything that we ate; the oysters on the half shell were great (a little on the chili side , less citrus - would have loved lemon personally but everyone else enjoyed them as is). All the dishes came with their tostadas that are the best tostadas I’ve had. The red snapper ceviche was delicious with nice chunks of fish and jicama. The kanpachi sashimi was so well seasoned with very finely chopped melon & radishes. The stone crab claw came already deconstructed which is a nice treat and they were so delicious with / without the accompanying chille sauce. $122 USD will get you: 6 oysters, 2 scallops, 2 tostadas and one cocktail + 18% enforced tip + $8 guilt tip for letting the dog sit on a cushion (didn’t even offer water).

Waited so long to come here since they opened in 2019 and unfortunately I was let down. The oysters and scallops had barely any flavour to them, which is probably why they add so much mignonette & extras. Perhaps I am bias as we get such high quality product in Aus.

The octopus and kanpachi tostadas were good, specifically the flavours on the kanpachi which complimented each other well, and if I was to return I would stick to those two + water. The house jalapeño sauce is delicious and not that spicy at all. Definitely recommend adding this if you like some extra kick.

When I think of seafood in eastside Los Angeles, I think of Ceviche Project. This is my go to for ceviche, aguachile, tostadas, and oysters. Octavio is an incredibly passionate and kind human being, and his food speaks for itself. He provides a completely engrossing and sensational culinary and human experience. The quality of the seafood is unmatched, the atmosphere is so relaxed, and the hospitality of Octavio goes beyond that of pretty much any other restaurant in LA. . It's just such a pleasure being able to eat at this local gem of a restaurant. The Silver Lake/Atwater Village/Glendale/Los Feliz community is lucky to have a restaurant like this.
