Charlie’s Grill Peruvian Restaurant — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Really bad service and food. We waited a long time to be served because there was only one waitress for the entire rest. However, it didn't take long to get the check. We ordered three popular dishes. The ceviche mixto was not good (the lemmon tasted bitter) and the overall flavor was just not good. The lomo saltado ratio 60% french fries, 25% rice and 15% red meat. Horrible! The meat strips were tiny and dry. This is one of the clues to see how good the cook is. If the lomo saltado and the 'salsa de ají, which is the green hot sauce) are good or great everything else falls into place! The salsa de ají had a cheese and parsley flavor (not good!). Next, the seco con frijoles was also mediocre. A lot of potatoes and rice and just a very few pieces of meat that came with the 'pellejo' (the chewy kind) fat. Also, the frijoles had no flavor whatsoever. I'm (we) definitely not coming back here. I'm peruvian and I have tried at least 10 other places in Los Angeles and this one is one of the worse ones!! Try going over a little west (Van Nuys blvd and/or also on Victory blvd). There are a few ones over there and also on a new one on Sepulveda blvd. Glendale also has a couple rest. worth the drive. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. I never take my time to review places nor has it ever been in my interest until recently. My husband and I visited Charlie's Grill, as we are regular customers, but recently the management has hired a new waitress, Alba is what she claimed her name to be. In the passed, all other waitress have been very kind and attentive. For starters several times we saw Alba on her phone while we waited for our food to be served. Which was extremely annoying. It is understandble to check your phone at work perhaps once or twice, but in all honesty, she crossed the line of professionalism. She was not attentive to what we needed, although we are not fussy people to begin with, she made the environment of this restaurant for us very poor. Food was very tasty overall, but the experience was so poor I had to write this review. If you decide to dine at this restaurant I highly recommend to stay away from that waitress.She is very poor in attitude. I would leave 0 stars to the server I would, anyway, our server shouldn’t be serving tables, when we arrived nobody was at the front to seat us down. We were standing there, till I went to the back and asked to be seated. I don’t remember the server name but had red hair So she got our order ( I don’t know if she was in bad mood, because she was not polite at all) anyway I let it go, because we were hungry after a long day at work. The fact that she never went to our table to check on us after delivering the food, was what got me upset. I had to ask to the other server to get my check and leave. So finally our server came to the table with a stupid excuse saying she had other things to do, she got busy and that’s why she never came back to our table. So she shouldn’t be serving tables.
