Bad Experience. I read all the positive reviews about this place, so I wanted to try it. We usually go to Fuji Buffet in Glendale, which is fantastic BTW. We live closer to this Gourmet City Buffet and thought if we like it, itâs closer and we can start coming here instead. Big mistake! When we were seated, the person that seated us walked super fast and left us way behind. Thatâs rude. The seafood part of the âseafood buffetâ was more than half empty. There were empty trays on ice, lots of empty trays, where the seafood was supposed to be. There were more empty trays than trays with sea food. So my favorite seafood is salmon sushi. None was there. I asked the guy preparing the sushi if there was salmon sushi. He just looked at me, ignored me and kept working. Other customers came up and asked him questions and he would just look at them and ignore them. I donât think it was a handicap issue. He just chose to ignore and not answer. I finally went up to the front counter and told the person in charge that this is my first time here and Iâm probably not coming back. I explained that more than half of the sea food dishes were empty and I had asked the guy about salmon and he ignored me. She went over to the seafood area and I showed her all the empty trays. She asked, âwell what did you want?â I said salmon sushi. She said âokay, it will be ready in 10 minutesâ. We were there another 30-40 minutes and the salmon never came out. This is going to be a long honest review from a first time local neighborhood customer.
I believe the restaurant is overwhelmed with all the grand opening coupons and ppl just wanting the cheapest price. Therefore there seems to be a lot of small things forgotten which can really change a customer experience.
1-Buffet Serving utensils are not separate for each dish. Many times i got annoyed on having to walk a few dishes down to find something to grab the food item I wanted to add to my plate. 2-At your table your given napkins and a fork, but so many delicious dishes need to be cut in half so please add a knife wrapped with our fork. 3-i did not eat any soup because there where no serving utensil again. 4-All staff seem stressed and unhappy, like they want to be anywhere else but here. Staff, just put a smile on your face. Even if the smile is a lie you are in the customer service, just smile. 5-buffet dish edges and consumer customer side needs to be wiped down more often.
I think in time this restaurant will stay a big hit for our neighborhood, especially for large size families. Please add alcohol drinks as soon as possible.

   Read moreThis place is very good however the prices have gone crazy. 33.99 per person is insane especially if you don't consume seafood. Before the oyster legs and shrimp, the prices were 18.99, which it wasn't bad. I think they need a better way to serve because it is unfair for people to pay so much money if they do not eat seafood, which I believe is the reason why they elevated their prices so much. Maybe the use of a wristband for people who consume seafood can help make prices fair for everyone else. Another recommendation perhaps that can help is separating their seafood from regular food. The last time I went, a server was putting shrimp in the trays and shaking the excess water into other trays containers that had orange chicken and beef. There are people with seafood allergies and shellfish allergies that experience allergic reactions, and they are not cautious about it. I hope someone can really put these recommendations into action because they really have potential the food is good but I hope they don't mess it up with small details like bad food handling and over charges for something that is not being consumed...
