Tacos Mexico — Restaurant in Los Angeles

After 14 years!! We're still OKAY. I was in the valley the other day and was feeling nostalgic for my broke Van Nuys days. Those early 20's where every day you wonder if everything is going to be OKAY day to day. This place was a place where you knew everything was gon̈na be OKAY. So I wanted to see if anything had changed and I was fine wirh the fact that this place was still OKAY.

This location is good. There is nothing wrong with the food, nothing wrong with the service except for the language barrier which I don't mind, to me the worse the english the better the flavor. Showed up on a Tuesday after a long day of running around for my business. This was a lucky day because it was taco TUESDAY, they also do taco THURSDAY $1.15 authentic tacos (seasoned meat, cilantro, onions on a double corn tortilla). I went for 2 carne asada tacos, and they were satisfying and perfectly GOOD, not great but good as always. I ALSO got a Carne Asada Burrito. The burrito was filling and had good flavor. While you wait you can fill up on your own lemons and bag up your own escabeche. I made this a car lap Linner (lunch/dinner). The price for taco specials definitely define this place, cheap. I went here several times and the only reason i return is because of the price. Just like others stated, the quality of the meat is very low but edible, especially when compared to other local taco spots.

Customer service is borderline or slightly below average. The last time i went i paid for 9 tacos and when i got home counted 8 (they wrapped them all in 2 aluminum foil paper). And to top it off, the guy didnt even give me change nor a receipt. So you gotta tell them u want your change & receipt. He probably ate my taco too. Would only recommend if you're on a super budget, and dont mind low quality food. But if u still go make sure u ask for your receipt, change, and check your order before you leave. They tried to give me just 5 tacos at first which was another guys order. I think the guy was gonna just remake the other guys order of 5 tacos and eat the extra, i.e. mines.

Lastly, the chick who makes the tacos doesnt wear gloves. Before wrapping the tacos she was sweeping the store and dont recall seeing her wash her hands before preparing the tacos. Unsanitary and Shady ...

This place has been inconsistent for years now. With constant changes in management, new owners, and a lack of focus on quality and customer service, the experience has significantly declined. A few years ago, there were issues with staff not speaking English and showing little concern for quality or professionalism, which contributed to its downfall. The previous management, however, offered good prices, high-quality food, and a professional atmosphere that made dining here a pleasant experience.

Last night, I ordered a burrito, and it was cold on the inside—the cheese wasn’t even melted. The ground beef, not asada steak, was of low quality, yet they charged $15 for it, which doesn’t reflect the standard you would expect for that price. Overall, the quality was subpar. I won’t be returning for burritos until there's new management, better food quality, and a return to professionalism.
