Cricca's Italian Deli — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Update March 4, 2022 okay, this place is seriously becoming my new addiction. Lol.

Turkey Bacon Ranch, loaded, on soft bread. Try it. It will change your life. Lots of turkey, bacon ontop, and that red onion 🌰 with deli mustard is the POW. It's zippy, zesty, tangy, cooling (from the lettuce & tomato). This is umami in a sandwich. I mean, I'm speechless.

Oh!! And those cannoli I love so much, regular or chocolate-dipped, fu get ta bout et! I'm at Cricca's twice a week now it's so frickn good.

The "regular" cannoli. More Savory than sweet. The sugar level is mild, and it's good. Real goooood. Perfect crunchy shells too (they're fresh), and the right amount of ricotta. I can tell they strained the Ricotta to get the moisture level just right. This extra step takes Time, Love and Care. You get that feeling when you walk in the door Criccas. The girl restocking the beverages today greeted us with a warm smile and a hello when we walked in the door. It's like they took that good energy, and wrapped it up into a cannoli. And thus here we are. I feel the love, and you will too.

Update Feb 24, 2022 Today I tried Cricca's sandwiches. Turkey, Roast Beef, Pastrami OR Turkey, Roast Beef, Salami? 🤔

I don't think a photo does these two sandwiches Justice. So I had to buy and try them both. Lol.

The softness of the bread really makes the entire experience exquisite. It's chewy, it has a good stretch to it when you bite into the sandwich, and really is how a sandwich should be. The staff at the counter, on point. Always smiling. Cricca's is becoming my favorite treat. Visit this place, and often. Tell a friend. I brought my cousin! 🇮🇹

Early Feb 2022 This is just a partial review, since I only came in here for a few cannoli after getting a pizza across the street at Ameci's. But don't get me wrong, people are getting sandwiches to eat there and to go left and right. That's next on my list, and I'll update this review afterwards.

How are the cannoli? I went for the smaller chocolate-dipped ones. Absolutely delicious! Way way better than Cavaretta. Ugh, I HATE that place by the way. See my review on there separately.

So back to the cannoli. They're good, really good. I like the fact that they're not too sweet at all. The shell is FRESH for that good crunch, and you can tell they were just made that morning. Omg, YES, and the chocolate coating really gave them a nice smooth finish.

You can also get the cannoli without the chocolate. But when in Rome, right?

Price: as of February 2022, the little small chocolate covered ones are $2 each. Totally worth the price.

If you really want to do it up, like you're on a break at work, or on a date with their significant other, pop on over next door and get an ice cream at Cup & Cone. Now you're talking sugar rush.

Parking: the deli is located inside of a little strip mall. So there's like at least 20 or 30 parking spaces shared between a few businesses. Usually there's always a space or...

I don't know how I lived in this area for so many years and didn't know about Cricca's. I've been addicted ever since I found this hidden gem and everyone else I've turned on feels the same. The staff is incredible and the customer service won me over at my first order ... before even tasting the food. Kevin and Courtney take care of me and not only deal with my many requests but remember the orders of everyone in my family. The service is great but THE FOOD IS EXCEPTIONAL!!!

This is hands down my favorite and the BEST SANDWICH SHOP in the valley! Yes, they do a great job with Italian subs and turkey subs but they have subs on the menu that I CRAVE. Some recommendations are "Ron's Special", "Al Capone", "Chubby's Favorite" and "The Godfather". Also, you won't find a better Chicken Salad Sandwich ANYWHERE!!! I highly suggest the "Chicken Salad Panini"!!! If you're a vegetarian, like a number of members of my family ... Do yourself a favor and try the "Roasted Vegetable Panini" or the "Egg Salad Sandwich" ... They're amazing even if you're not a vegetarian, TRUST ME!!! Additional superstars are the Stuffed Cherry Peppers*, The Potatoe Salad, Macaroni Salad, Tuna Salad, and the Canollis. Make sure to add a Boars Head Dill Pickle to your order ... and for you east coasters (like myself), They are fully stocked with all flavors of Dr. Browns and Stewart's (including Black Cherry and Orange & Cream) sodas. Do yourself a favor ... Grab a sub, It will be your favorite...

Took my money, didn't give me my sandwich, made me wait, when I showed them my receipt and asked for my food they said they didn't have it and had no record of it in their system and couldn't do anything for me (despite my physical proof of the transaction) but make me wait while they made another sandwich but I had to go back to work and asked for my money back instead. They said their manager was not available to authorize that and to basically shove off. They did do me the courtesy of writing my name down (incorrectly) so I could come back and speak to their manager on my own time without telling me when that time might be. I find this service unacceptable and it's why I will never patronize their establishment again. I now have to take my own personal time to deal with this through my bank to dispute the transaction and get my money back. The worst part though was waiting for my lunch hour and not getting any lunch. Even with an apology and my money back I would never return. I strongly recommend others do the same to avoid similar treatment.

Edit: I am updating this review to confirm that the owner did find and cancel the transaction. I still will not be returning or accepting their offer of a free meal, seems like the quickest way I could get my food spit in short of insulting the people working at a drive thru before...
