Dos Arbolitos Restaurant — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Our first time eating here, was recommended by a coworker as there aren't any good Mexican food places in GH. When we want good decent Mexican food I go to Mission burritos in West hills on Roscoe. It's about a 20 mins drive, but well worth it! So, we tried this place tonight and it was very pricey and the food not worth the money. I ordered a 2 item combo beef enchilada, Chile relleno combination and the sauce was very thin, the tortilla was thick and it wasn't cooked. It was bland, no flavor, couldn't even cut the enchilada it was so hard !! My Chile relleno still had seeds inside as they didn't clean out the seeds before stuffing it with cheese. It was lightly stuffed and the sauce was watery. They put it in a separate tray. My husband had flautas combo and my daughter and her husband had 2-taquitos combos. It's hard to mess up deep fried tortillas and meat. I'll pass on giving this place any more business after spending almost 80.00 on food that was subpar, I'll drive 20 mins to Mission Burritos.. Dos Arbolitos is an excellent place up in the North Hills serving good Mexican food for the past couple decades. They have an extensive menu and serve wine and beer. There are a couple flat screen TVs as well. Plenty of space for groups, they tend to have a good lunch business. Their platillos (plates) are huge. They serve large portions regardless of what you order. The carnitas are excellent as is their barbacoa (beef). They offer chicken, asada and marinated pork too. They serve a great caldo and pozole. Prices have gone up..the plates run around $16 as an average. Burritos and tostadas are around $8.50. Not a romantic place, but you will eat well....

This is one of my favorite restaurants & a regular choice. I've taken many guests there as well. The ambiance is very casual & reasonably priced. The staff wonderful & friendly - and consistent over the years! And the food is excellent! In fact, on my last birthday, feeling exhausted from the day's activities, I opted for take out from Dos Arbolitos for dinner -- and I couldn't have been happier with my choice.
