So my date and I walk in and wait to be seated but the distinguished gentleman in the lumberjack shirt completely ignores me (despite my date and I being the only people in the lobby) until a lady walks in right after me and asks if we're in line. I told her we were and that's when he finally decided to acknowledge our presence for whatever reason. He asked if we wanted to sit at the bar and get snacks or dine in. I said dine in. He then asked if we wanted to sit inside or in the back patio. I opt for the back patio.
He says "first come, first serve" and we start walking towards the back but it being our first time, we weren't familiar with the layout so we're basically standing in the middle of the dining area with everyone eating and staring at us. So we walk back to the entrance to ask him which way to go and he lazily points us in the right direction almost as if annoyed and shooing us away.
Still, I'm a patient person so we decide to sit down and see if things improve. Welp. Needless to say, they did not. We ended up waiting for about 10-15 minutes (and I should mention that its freezing) but nobody ever came to give us a menu or check on us so we had enough and left.
I don't know if it was just a bad night, an honest mistake/accident, or if it was a racial thing. All I know is that we didn't feel welcome at all. Decent atmosphere but absolutely terrible service. I would give it 0 stars if I could. I dont know...call me old fashioned, but every restaurant I've ever been to immediately greets you, asks how many are in your party, then they seat you, and give you menus. I guess that's just not the protocol...
Read moreThe host(ess) with the ridiculous outfit and the Von Dutch hat made our experience horrendous, for no reason. Checked in at 715pm while it was quite cold outside. Was told it would be a half hour, 45 mins max for a table inside. So we waited outside and had a couple hundred $ worth of drinks and appetizers while we waited for his/her text. Over 2 hours passed and that text never came. Although there were plenty of tables inside, which were easily spotted as we randomly walked through to the restroom. Upon paying the bill and leaving at almost 10pm, we asked if we could get that table inside. S/he gave us a ton of attitude, argued, said some incoherent things about his mental disability and then told us to speak to his manager while walking away and slamming the lobby door as hard as s/he could. The whole situation was childish and ridiculous. It was unusual to watch a host/ess behave like a Karen rather than a customer. Food was okay. Drinks weren't great. Wouldn't come back for...
Read moreRomantic bar/restaurant with outdoor dining patio. Indoor dining is also available. Came here for a friend’s surprise engagement get-together around 8:30pm on a Friday evening and we had a group of around 20 spread across the small tables alongside the wall in the outdoor patio area. Parking was difficult - street parking may be available on the road or you’ll have to search in the neighborhoods. Credit cards are accepted. You order food/drinks at the bar and you’ll receive a number to place at your table.
The fries were crispy and a good size for 3-4 people to split. The mac and cheese’s sauce was a bit thin but I liked the baked bread crumbs on top. The calamari was the best thing we ordered and had a mild kick. The fried chicken sliders came in two and were okay. The drinks were more of the main draw, and they do have bottles of champagne available for purchase in case you’re trying to celebrate a special event. Overall, it’s a cute spot to have a date night or go with...
