Michelangelo, an Italian restaurant that beckons with the promise of authentic flavors and a true taste of Italy, has left an indelible mark on my culinary journey. From the moment I stepped into this culinary haven, I knew I was in for a treat.
The ambiance at Michelangelo is a perfect blend of sophistication and warmth. The rustic yet elegant decor, reminiscent of an Italian trattoria, immediately transports you to the heart of Italy. The soft glow of ambient lighting creates an inviting atmosphere, setting the stage for a delightful dining experience.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the food. Michelangelo's menu is a gastronomic journey through the diverse and rich culinary landscape of Italy. Each dish is a testament to the chef's dedication to using high-quality, fresh ingredients. From the first bite to the last, I was treated to a symphony of flavors that can only be described as a culinary masterpiece.
The pasta dishes, a highlight at Michelangelo, are crafted with precision and care. The al dente perfection of the pasta, coupled with rich and flavorful sauces, showcases a commitment to authenticity that is truly commendable. Whether indulging in classic favorites like Spaghetti Bolognese or venturing into more adventurous options, every dish reflects the passion that goes into creating a true Italian dining experience.
The pizza, a cornerstone of Italian cuisine, deserves a special mention. Michelangelo's pizzas are a revelation – thin, crispy crusts topped with the freshest ingredients, delivering a perfect balance of flavors. It's evident that the chef takes pride in adhering to the traditional methods of pizza-making while infusing their own creative twists.
What truly sets Michelangelo apart is not just the delectable cuisine but the genuine warmth of the staff. The waitstaff, with their friendly demeanor and extensive knowledge of the menu, elevate the dining experience. They are more than just servers; they are guides on a culinary adventure, ready to share their passion for Italian cuisine.
In conclusion, Michelangelo is more than just a restaurant; it's a celebration of Italian culinary excellence. The combination of a charming ambiance, mouthwatering dishes, and a staff that exudes warmth creates an atmosphere that keeps you coming back for more. If you're in search of an authentic Italian dining experience that transcends expectations, Michelangelo is the place to be....
Read moreEverything was SO delicious! We came here for the first time today for my sister's birthday and the entire experience was fantastic!
The atmosphere is intimate and beautiful. We sat inside but there is also an outside patio option. Our server was so nice and attentive. He answered all our menu questions. We also met Tony one of the brothers who owns the restaurant and personally creates the menu. It's family owned and they have been in the silverlake area for 27 years. Having recently moved into the area we are so happy to support a local family owned business.
They have an extensive drink menu with wine and bar options. My mom got a specialty Irish coffee and my brother got their margarita both of which they greatly enjoyed.
We had the bruschetta appetizer which was light and delicious to start with. Then my brother and mom split the sage butter ravioli and one of the specials of the day a pear strawberry date candied walnut salad with crumbled feta cheese they raved about. My brother said the raviolis were the best he's ever tried. The sage butter sauce in particular was exceptional. My sister loved her Fettuccine Alfredo! I got the fish of the day which was perfectly cooked and the lemon caper sauce was exquisite! They easily accommodated my dietary restrictions and were so nice about it. Our server walked me through which options on the menu were dairy free and I had quite a few to choose from. I also noted for next time that they have a gluten free pasta substitution for those who want it. My brother got a Pappardelle Alla Domenica to go because everything was so good and he also rated that extremely high when I asked. I didn't take photos because we were so busy eating and celebrating but everything was beautifully plated in addition to being delicious.
We ended the meal with a tiramisu which my family loved and I had a cafe latte which they easily substituted almond milk for me. They brought out a birthday hat and decorations and we sang happy birthday to my sister who was incredibly happy! We are so grateful they made her day so wonderful and memorable. We will...
Read moreWhether you live in LA, or are just visiting, Michelangelo Ristorante needs to be on your list of places to eat at! The food is fairly priced for being homemade, the owners are Italian and you can appreciate the love they have for the restaurant/service, along with the waiters. I had the opportunity of eating there 3 times during my 5 day trip to LA. The Gnocchi (with Porcini Mushroom) and Ravioli (with Vodka Sauce) are my personal favorite, both are homemade, along with the sauce of your choice which is also homemade and fresh! Had the Bruschetta as an appetizer and it was one of the best bruschettas I've ever had, simple yet so fresh and satisfying. Also tried the Fried Raviloi and it was good, I prefer the regular Ravioli. The Stracciatella soup was good, hands down 5 stars if you like egg style soups. Finally for dessert, we had to try the Cannoli and the Panna Cotta, along with a cappuccino. The cannoli was delicious, I usually never eat Cannoli because I don't care much for the allspice and cinnamon, but this cannoli didn't have much which for me was perfect! The Panna Cotta was sooo flavorful and delicious, it melted in your mouth! One plus is that they offer gluten free and vegetarian options... Again, if you are in the area, you have to try this place at least once to get your own appreciation. I will come back next time I'm in LA. (PS - I am not the best at taking food pics, rather...
