Etiquette Coffee has been on my list for a while and I’m really glad we went. Their outside seating has a way of making you feel like you’re somewhere else for a moment 🐪 I really love that it’s not just a concrete ally but has a sandy ground and tan cloth above that provides shade. I’m not sure how they made an LA ally feel so clean and sophisticated but they did a great job. Almost felt like I was back in Europe ☕️
The cafe itself is located in what I think is a really cool and interesting street. It feels like a dead-end street with some businesses and a few storage houses. It definitely has that urban feeling that some people search for. The cafe seems to blend in perfectly with the rest of the buildings and can even be unnoticeable driving past it. I definitely got a feeling it’s well loved by the locals who know about this little gem.
It also looks like their brand is more than just coffee. I love to see cafes selling products they’re passionate about and building more of a community that way. There’s definitely a specific crowd that Etiquette Coffee attracts and you can feel it when you walk in. Our barista was so funny and enthusiastic and everyone in there, even the patrons, seem like interesting characters. I had great things to say about their drinks too 🍵 we ordered a matcha and chai tea and the chai was our favorite of the two. Very happy to be able to taste spices and not a basic concentrate that some cafes use!
I would be very happy to come back again with a book and enjoy the atmosphere 🚲

Read moreOverall poor experience despite the good atmosphere.
Our barista was pretty rude. Understandably we had a 4 person group and he was alone on bar, but we were met with apprehension when asking questions such as if he could do a pour over or if there was a bus bin for our cups.
He also didn't call our drinks out so we weren't sure if our drinks were actually ready or if they were other's drinks, to which we were met with a passive aggressive "do you guys like your drinks hot or?".
One of our drinks was specifically asked to be hot, which was served cold. Drinks were not very balanced, flavored lattes we're watered down despite the stand alone espresso being pretty solid.
I've definitely had worse coffee, but personally I'm in the belief coffee is 50% the experience. I'm incredibly disappointed because I wanted so badly to love this place. We were willing to wait an be patient to our barista, why were we not met with the...
Read moreI’ve been searching the internet for a few days to find a cafe to visit, and today I went with my friend with high expectations. However, the attitude of the staff was arrogant and rude, making me never want to come back here again and even discourage my friends from coming. My friend wanted to drink decaf because she’s sensitive to caffeine, and when I asked if they had decaf, the barista, who had tattoos all the way from their arms to their neck and looked extremely skinny like they could faint any moment, rudely questioned why you would drink coffee if they were going to have decaf. They could have said it nicely without being condescending. It felt like he was speaking to us that way because we’re Asian. It felt like racial discrimination. Even if the coffee tasted good, I wouldn’t want to come back because they can’t even make coffee properly!! Never trust ad on instagram thumbs down...
