Happy Diner #3 — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I experienced the worst meal I've had in ages at this diner. I went with a group to Happy Diner for dinner and ordered the Teryaki Tri-Tip after the waitress recommended it. When it came, it was almost inedible. First, I don't believe it was tri-tip and my partner agreed. It was thick, tough and tasteless and was not marinated in teriyaki as advertised. It was cooked in very sweet, syrupy teriyaki sauce and served with boardy asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. I don't know how you mess up garlic mashed potatoes, but these were starchy and tasteless and seemed to be reheated, old mashed potatoes (almost no garlic, or buttery taste). I wish I had sent the whole thing back, but I was invited out by others and I didn't want the host to feel embarrassed.

Others at the table who ordered breakfast dishes for dinner were satisfied, but those who ordered regular plate dinners said they were "meh".
