Joe's Pizza Mid-City — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I order pizza from this place one to two times a week. I appreciate it when they are generous with toppings and the dough is perfectly baked. However, sometimes it's light on toppings, especially for the Supreme.

I'm not sure why, but every time I pick up my order, no matter how polite I try to be, I encounter a less-than-welcoming attitude. I've observed them treating other customers, particularly those picking up medium-sized pizzas, very differently. The large Hispanic staff member often proactively asks if they need plates and cheese. When I pick up a large or extra-large pizza, this same staff member simply hands me the box. I always have to ask for plates and napkins, and he often appears bothered by the request.

If this were an isolated incident, I'd overlook it, but I've been coming here weekly for three months for my family's Wednesday pizza night. I'm starting to suspect this treatment is due to my being Asian, as their demeanor often feels dismissive and unpleasant. Last Friday night, when I picked up my pizza, the staff member even cut me off while I was asking for napkins and plates.

If management sees this, please address it. While the pizza is good, it's also quite expensive, and if the service remains poor, I will take my business elsewhere. Regular customers deserve...

Joe’s makes incredible pizza! It’s my favorite go-to for a quick slice between jobs or a whole pie when I’m hosting game night with friends. Big shoutout to Alex (who impressively worked his way up to manager), Pepe, and Eric for making Joe’s not just my favorite pizza place, but the only one I go to. They always greet me with a cheerful hello, treat customers with kindness, and—most importantly—make sure every pizza is fresh and delicious.

I've ordered from this place 4 times. The first 3 times, the pizza was good quality and tasted like a solid close second to a real NYC slice. However, my most recent order was very disappointing. The pizza crust tasted old and under-cooked, and the garlic knots were inedible. On top of that, my scheduled delivery was 45 minutes late. When I called to check on the status of the order when it was 15 minutes past delivery time the employee on the phone answered "what order?" then claimed that it was already en route to me. This was clearly a lie since I live only 5-10 minutes away. No apology or concessions were offered for the delay.

I hope this time was a fluke because l thought I had found something special in the neighborhood and wanted to keep supporting...
