Mi Bandera Pupusería & Restaurante #2 — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Do you know I've been to several restaurants that serve Popusas,. To be honest with you I wasn't really satisfied with the serving of the meal and the service at this restaurant. For example hours and Platanos Fritos and they came with some hairs. I called the waitress and notify her that these bananas have hair as well. She didn't believe me but she took it back. 10 minutes later she called back with a new batch. But again these bananas have hair.?? So I told her just cancel that order and just substitute it with something else. Popusas wasn't all that neither. I was reading the comments and everybody's mentioning that there was in dry and everything. I don't know who will cook for that day but every weekend when I come here doesn't have flavor and for some reason I get them dry. The complimentary desert (white chocolate ice cream) was delicious. The service was really nice. Very pleasant ladies. Music was a little too loud for the amount of customers being served (about 4 tables total) so we could barely hear the server and each other. The ambiance was nice. The cortido (REALLY GOOD-had green chili peppers in it) and the red sauce for the pupusas was also good. The pupusas we're good but they needed to be fully cooked. They were served a little raw. We took some home and the next day reheated them on the comal and they were EVEN better the next day. I would go back but this time, I would ask that they do them well done. My friend who is Salvadorian would always order food from here and i quote, “this place actually cooks good Salvadorian food!”

I ordered a Chicken Tamale (super yum) and ordered “Carne Guisada” for my husband (who is Mexican and he wiped clean the plate.

The outside of the restaurant looks dingy but when you walk in... it’s a total Epiphany!!! The interior decor is super cute, new and welcoming.

Restrooms are very clean and service... if I didn’t live in San Fernando Valley I’d come here at least once a week!!!
