Great hidden gem in LA! My girlfriend is a celiac and I'm, well... not. We both love pizza and constantly search LA to find a spot where we can both get pizza we love. Well, we found it. I ordered the NY style triple sausage pizza and it is one of my favorite thin crusts in town. Loved it. We called ahead the day before and spoke to the owner about his gluten free style. Diego is extremely kind and answered any questions we had. He imports his gluten free flour from Italy and makes the dough himself (as opposed to a lot of shops that order the same GF crust from other companies). His GF pizza is Detroit style because it's made in a protected separate pan. We could not tell that this crust was gluten free. It was perfectly fluffy on the inside with a nice crunchy outside. I'd love to do a taste test side by side with his gluten Detroit style, because I doubt I could taste the difference. Now, you DO have to call ahead a day before for the GF crust because he makes it special just for you and needs the dough to proof over night. Call ahead, he's really nice and will take good care of you. Hopefully one day he'll get enough Gluten Free Business to prep the dough constantly so you won't have to call ahead, so spread the word! Anyway, great pizza with an amazing owner who makes the pizza himself and cares about his food. Try it out, you won't be...

Our neighborhood has been graced with an extraordinary pizza establishment that unequivocally sets a new standard for gluten-free pizzas. Everything was of the highest standard, but this review will focus on their gf pizza.

Cafe LA sources its gluten-free flour directly from Italy, but it’s not just the flour that makes the pizza dough wonderful — it’s the chefs skill that makes it shine.

It’s a Detroit style pizza with a gluten-free crust that strikes an impeccable balance between a crisp exterior and a soft focaccia center. Far from being an afterthought, this base is proof that gluten-free doesn't mean flavor-free. In fact you’d never know it was gluten free.

Service is warm and welcoming, and the chef passion for his culinary craft is evident in his knowledge and enthusiasm.

In short, this restaurant is a jewel in our neighborhood. It's not just the best gluten-free pizza you'll find locally—it may well be the best you'll find anywhere. Anyone seeking an incredibly delicious, and inclusive Italian pizza experience should not miss out on this delicious...

We arrived on a chilly Saturday evening on our way to the zoo. I read some of the reviews and hadn’t had pizza in awhile so thought “why not,” and am so pleased we decided on Pizza Cafe LA. After parking, we walked in and met the owner. We wanted to try the Brooklyn style and the Detroit style so we ordered 3 pizzas and an order of wings. The dozen Nashville hot honey wings arrived with house made ranch first. They had been brined and cooked fresh to order. The spices and honey stuck to the crispy chicken skin and the meat was so juicy and tender. We knew things were off to a great start. The pepperoni, sausage, jalapeño, and garlic pizza came out next. It was incredible. The Margherita pizza was next and it was delicious. The Detroit pizza came out and the sauce and cheese complimented the house made focaccia style crust perfectly. It was a perfect pizza meal and the most memorable pizza experience I’ve ever had. I can’t recommend this...

TLDR: Incredible pizza. Might be the best I have had in a while. Completely worth the price. This is no ordinary pizza spot. The work Diego is putting into his craft is immense and immediately apparent when you start eating. I have been going here somewhat regularly when I decided to take the chance and walk into this quant pizza shop. I have now found the spot I look forward to every week I decide to treat myself. I have brought out family and a lot of friends and they all also agree, this pizza stands apart from the rest. ABSOLUTELY make sure you try the Detroit style. The crust is perfect, the sauce he makes in house is insane as well. I punched the table in ecstasy when I first tried it. Make sure you get the little pepperoni cups too. The wings are crazy good too. Great crunch and pairs well with his in house ranch that is really fresh.

Gluten free deep dish is pretty amazing! My husband and I live five minutes from here so we thought we would give it a try. Ever since I found out that I have a wheat sensitivity I have had almost no good pizza. We got a regular deep dish and a GF one to compare. There was almost no difference and it was really good! I could not believe it. I added red onions and garlic to my pizza. I also threw on some hot honey and pepper flakes at home. I’m kind of blown away. The crust is really good too, it’s a crispy melted cheese crust. If you want a GF pizza, call a day ahead to reserve. For the time being that’s how it is. This is a pic, the gf pizza is on the right. Owner was very friendly! We also got a first time customer discount.
