Let me start by saying that I like this store and have been a customer for some time. Love their selection and have always been enjoying to find some unique bottles for good prices. But today I had a not-so-good experience.
I bought a 6-pack of bottle beers 5 days ago. Took them home and started drinking them one by one. When I pulled out the 4th bottle 3 days later, I found that the bottle was broken and was empty. Only then I realized that the paper bottle carrier was wavy, must have been wet at one point. My car or the fridge were not wet, so this bottle must have been broken/empty before I picked it up from the store.
Today, 2 days after I found this broken bottle, I took it back to the store to complain. The manager (or the owner?) was unhappy with my claim but he gave me a replacement bottle. He, however, blamed me for not checking all the bottles before leaving the store, and questioned why I didn't contact them sooner. I guess I should check all the bottles at the store like I do with eggs, but unlike eggs, I never had any store selling broken/empty bottles ever before. Also I should have called them immediately when I found it broken, but I was busy for the next 2 days and I chose to talk to them in person rather than calling them. I know what to do next time, but he made me feel like I did wrong and they had done nothing wrong.
Again I like the store and never had any bad experiences until today. I would have given them 5 stars but today I'd give them 1 star, so I'm rating them 3 to be fair. Yes, he gave me the replacement bottle, but then I wish he just admit that they had poor inventory control and promise not to make the same mistake again. Instead he told me, "If you get cash from a bank, you cannot come back 5 days later and say that it was $20 short!" He is right, I cannot say that because the bank teller would count the cash with me before I leave. His staff kept an empty/broken bottle in their fridge for sale, didn't know or think that it was broken/wet, and didn't check when they bagged it. Bad business practice and customer...
Read moreAll the Mission liquors are the best liquor stores in the San Fernando valley. Also in Glendale and Pasadena. Their website is legit and will tell you what they have if it's in stock or where it is in stock. I'm diving more into their wine selection now, but I have amassed a large whiskey collection from them. Scotch, bourbon, rye, Irish, heck even German and Indian single malts. They're knowledgeable and helpful and it's a great store to explore because there are so many options you can actually pick up and check out that aren't behind the counter. Of course the really expensive stuff is behind the counter. They've also got a fantastic beer selection of local and small breweries. Definitely check this place out before you go to BevMo or total wine. The prices are comparable and you're supporting a...
Read moreGreat selection of wines and spirits. It’s a full-service liquor store. I’m glad I found them after 5 years. I kept driving to Total Wine.
Exceptional and fair customer service.
I like the online shopping capability.
Parking is easy.
I probably won’t return for wine because the staff didn’t seem helpful or knowledgeable in my winery regions. I had to spend time looking on my phone for reviews and information. I prefer old-vine and single vintage wines from Italy, France, and Spain.
I initially found the store while searching for Verdejo and Verdelho. I also found Condesa Prickly Pear & Orange Blossom, a Mexican Gin...
