I'm updating my review from two years ago since we just went back to Cynthia for my daughter's 3rd Grade presentation on Three Kings Day. There's been a re-branding to Nawlins Sweet Treats, since the two years. I adore this place, and Cynthia and her son, Jacob, are so lovely. The King Cake was a hit with my daughter's class, and the face of the child who found the baby Jesus was so precious. By the way, if you wish to "rig" the hunt, then mention to Cynthia beforehand that you want to know where the baby Jesus is baked so that you can award that special slice to someone you like (Jacob puts a toothpick next to where he bakes it).
I am definitely going back in Christmas time for their Praline Cake, and their chocolate chip cookies. Diet be gone. My son who's in 3rd Grade had an oral presentation due this past week on Three Kings Day. I called up Cynthia at New Orleans Sweet Treats, who gladly baked us a cake and provided a historical explanation of the cake's symbolism. My son even cited her in his Bibliography. It is decorated beautifully as you can see, the kids just LOVED it. The kids were all searching diligently for the baby Jesus in their slices. This is the perfect cake for a class room. Cynthia mentioned that each of her three kids got "As" on their own reports. My son also got his "A," so lesson learned: this cake will get...

This local bakery is positively spilling over with Southern charm, joie de vivre, and Mardi Gras spirit! It was my pleasure to do business with them. Also, the bright young lady/granddaughter whom I met today, I feel certain that she’s going to grow up to be an excellent businessperson, just like the rest of the family members with whom I interacted. Great cake;...
Read moreWhat an incredible treat! We normally get our king cake sent in from New Orleans, but this was even better. We were so lucky to stumble on Mrs. Cynthia's wonderful establishment! I think we've found our new regular spot!
The king cake is delicious! Not too sweet, perfectly soft, and very flavorful. It's beautifully decorated - you can tell how much love went into making it.
It was also a joy to get to talk to Mrs. Cynthia. Visiting New Orleans Sweet Treats is like stepping into a tiny square of New Orleans. For a few minutes, we felt like we were back home, and it was wonderful.
I can't say enough...
