Honestly the worse barbershop Experience that I have ever had. I would never ever ever ever ever visit Black Hollywood Barber Downtown location. I made an appointed me with Sol Le because of her reviews and it was a terrible experience from the start. She was late. I asked another guy if he knew where she was. He said she would be right back she just went to get a juice. After 15 minutes I said ill come back in 15 minutes. I went out to make a call. Then 5 minutes later she cancelled me I sent a message saying I am here.
I feel she lacks skills and is unprofessional. I should have probably just left when she was 15 minutes late. She charges 60 dollars for a haircut and beard trim, and she doesnāt even use a razor. I found her service to be lackluster.
I have always loved Black Hollywood Barber original location on Western. It has great barbers and a great vide. I wanted to try the new location and was disappointed by the barber and the location. It feels generic and uncool. I would never visit the downtown location every again or get a cut from Sol Le. In my opinion she could never make it at Western Location.
Basically, the new downtown shop should be avoided. It is nothing like the original location. Thatās probably why it is empty and boring. I didnāt see any of the long time barbers in the new location. The day I went it was just two barbers. It lacks soul that the location on Western has. There are plenty of great downtown barber locations. This just doesnāt happen to be one.
If Sol Le had skills I could accept the price and her being late but she doesnāt have skills. Avoid her...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot even sure where to start here. First off, shout out to the entire staff there, but a special shout out to my NEW barber Mellroz! Best haircut Iāve had in a minute & Iām super picky. I have tricky hair, as itās dark in most places, but thinning in other places. Of course, the inconsistency of oneās hair can make a brotha paranoid on the barber they chose b/c some have difficulties blending, and making everything as even as possible.
My man Mel took it a step further; he took his time, and listened to, not only me, but my hair! He followed the patterns precisely, and he cut me like I was him in the chair. No rush job. What floored me wasnāt just the cut, but the price afterwards!! Just moved back to LA, and the mission was to find a new barber, and I can proudly say that happened. Anyone not giving this spot a 5 is clearly smokinā somethinā. Lol. Salute...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you canāt do a certain cut just say so and people would rather wait. I actually like the shop and the barber that I used to have there. The other guy gave me a crooked line and barley tapered on side of my haircut. I paid him $25 and it looked sharp when I first got out the chair. Heās the barber named Greg who is the last chair on the far end. An older guy. A day later and when I brushed it the stuff he put on my line up wore off and exposed all the flaws he made. He sprayed stuff on my head without even asking my permission telling me he was training my line back. He bragged on him barber skills and didnāt deliver. He promised to fix it when I called by I was unsure and didnāt want it to get any worse. I was a loyal client to this shop coming for moths every week or 2 from anywhere I was at. Theyāve lost my...
