It’s awful what they have done to this place since the previous owners’ passing!!! Going into the restaurant some workers were outside vaping, God knows what, while I’m trying to come in with my child. Go in, no one there to greet us. It’s loud as hell with the karaoke. Vaping employee comes in eventually and tells us to sit where ever. Then tell us to sit somewhere else. (Away from the karaoke) and the wooden high chair there was broken in two places. Got a different one at least. Then seated the table is gross and sticky. Does not look like they clean up the non karaoke area. The menu is awful, faded and hard to read. I get the chicken plate and my partner Carne asada quesadilla. My chicken is room temp, chewy, and hard to eat. Rice was cold and over cooked like they used too much water. I can’t take more than two bites of it. Partner’s quesadilla tasted like the meat was old. All the while we are hardly checked up on. Waitress suggested I try a different plate when she did check up on us. I refused not wanting to chance it. One the way out we see some employee with a boxes of decor for the already cluttered restaurant, cussing left and right. Instead of wasting money and time on making the place look more “authentic”they should be cleaning, cooking their food properly, and buying food that is not...
Read moreHad a nice time here with my husband. There was plenty of parking available when we arrived but I could see it getting crowded. There is nearby street parking as well. The service was really great. The booths were pretty uncomfortable and uneven but not a deal breaker. They have a jukebox that gets pretty loud but there are two rooms if you feel like sitting on the other side to avoid the noise. They didn't hand out a drink menu but I noticed people getting beers and margaritas.
For food: My husband ordered the stuffed shrimp, which he said was really good. The abalone was a little overcooked but the flavor was good. I ordered the whole fried fish, also overcooked but it was a good size. I wish it had better flavor but there was salt on the table. Both dishes were served with rice and sauteed veggies that tasted sooo good. I could fill up on those alone. The table chips and salsa were okay. The chips were a little thick for my liking and the salsa didn't have any spice but it tasted homemade.
They have a pretty large menu and we honestly had a hard time choosing, so we are excited to try more things. Prices were a little high but portions and service made...

The food is always as expected. Hot, flavorful, mildly spicy and more than I can eat in a sitting!
The salsa is a bit lackluster: watery and not very flavorful, but, I don't go here to fill up on chips and salsa😉
I've visited this restaurant a few times in the past six months; tasting a variety of dishes: tacos, burrito, enchiladas, chile colorado. All are served with ample sides (typically Spanish rice and pinto beans). The food taste like 'homemade food' should taste. The dishes have a familiar depth of flavor that takes me back to my Auntie's kichen. They must use family recipes as the food always has that comforting feeling you get when someone serves you a plate made with love and pride! I've yet to be disappointed in my meal and don't anticipate I will!
Give them a try, you'll be back time and again!!!
