This place came up on my search for pozole in the valley, I was excited to give it try since it's a new establishment. When I arrived I saw it was kinda crowded, and a line inside to order, which should of meant great food. Well it wasn't in my opinion, unfortunately I have had better pozole and menudo within the valley. I paid 14 dollars for each order, the portions were good for the price, and they came with hand made tortillas, onion, cilantro, oregano, and chili sauce. While ordering the girl at the register said they had no pata(usually pig/cow feet) available, which I enjoy eating so that was a bummer. Although, while waiting for my order I could overhear the customers ordering pata and the girl would say, okay..?? I thought maybe it finished cooking while I waited for my order, who knows. When I got home I tried both broths before adding in the works, and it lacked the flavor a pozole and menudo should have, it was bland, with no flavor in my opinion. It also had a weird smell, almost like a burnt hair smell to it. I didn't pick up the aromas or flavors of the chiles and spices the broth should have. I added the works into the broth and that made it better. They are generous with the tripe and maíz I gotta say though, and the hot fresh tortillas were great too. Unfortunately I won't be returning based off what I experienced and the drive there, but do try it for yourself if you are in the area and enjoy pozole or menudo. They also have birria on their menu, not sure if it's beef or goat. Their menu seemed small too, parking in the rear of...

We were greeted by a lovely young lady whom I suspect is Doña Ana who seated us and apologized for the broken A/C unit, took our orders and quickly moved to get our food ready.
The Pozole was out of this world. It has all the charm and taste of abuelita's pozole but with a quality that takes it up a notch and then 2 more when you remember that you have to add the chile.
Up next was the birria. Came with beans, rice and home made corn tortillas. I'm a certified consome Boi! It has my official seal of approval.
Pata de Puerco en consome... homie, they don't call me the Chupapata for nothing. Went to town, came back and then went in for more.
The birria quesatacos... bruh... eat them at the restaurant. Don't have them delivered. Don't get them "Para llevar". Eat them as they're landing on your table. It's so worth it.
For first timers, they also hooked us up with some tacos de frijol!!! Treated us like family and the food was amazing. What else can...
Read moreI'm always looking for a good spot for Mexican food and this place is definitely high on my list. Known for their infamously delicious pozole this family-owned and family run restaurant also offers an assortment of delicious favorites from family recipes. Once you walk into the Panorama City location, immediately you have a feeling of family and home. With an open kitchen plan, customers can easily see how the magic happens with their food. The charismatic owner Cynthia is also always warm and inviting and a lot of fun to hang with. With it's cool Decor sprinkled in with cultural accents, dining in is also a pleasant experience. Fun fact, this restaurant has a option where you can bring your own pot and Order pozole and other specialty soups that they offer, and they'll fill your pot and also give you extra juice. This is perfect for family gatherings. I genuinely was shocked that my burrito was under $12 especially seeing how massive it was. Talk about a food coma and yes it was nom nom x 10. And with everything being made fresh and daily you know that everything on this menu...
