Pupusería Cuzcatlán — Restaurant in Los Angeles

The food was pretty good. My family loves coming here. I've came here twice. The breakfast it's delicious. If there's people, expect a wait. If it's empty service is very fast. There is only one waiter, the rest of the workers are cooking. I've only been here Saturdays, not sure if different other days of the week. Free parking is in the back. There is an alley that you enter on Van Nuys Blvd when the buildings of little businesses finish on the left of the restaurant. You'll be lucky if you find parking in front. I'm pregnant so the food made me throw up. Not because the food is nasty, because it's not!! When I get too full I throw up. My non-pregnant family did not throw up lol at all. Horchata is not good without ice. This time I got the lemonade. It was so delicious, but a little too lemony for me. I've tried the Salpicon, it's not like the picture lol I got tricked. The meat is cut up like tuna and has cut up bits of ravanos, onion, and idk what else. Make sure you squeeze the lemon onto the meat. The beans and rice was banging. Especially with the handmade tortillas. The pupusas are pretty good. They also have arrina de arroz for those who prefer it, it does cost a little more. The refresco de ensalada is really good from what I've heard. They never have atole de elote when I go -__- but my mom says it's really good. I trust her word on that. The food is pretty good, give it a try.

Only con is that they don't have the prices of the food on the back menu. If it's busy it's a wait. The entrance side is usually more colder than the side with the TV.

I find it hard to find a place nearby with really good pupusas but thankfully this place is delicious. The waitress was very nice and helpful. The menus didnt have the prices but without me having to ask she told us to feel free asking her about any of the prices. She was very detailed in explaining the menu as well. I ordered several things because it was my first time going and I wanted to make sure I knew whether the food was good or not. Luckily everything tasted great and I had a very good experience here. The place isn't fancy looking or very well decorated but I feel that the food and the service speak for themselves. Been coming here for 3 1/2 years now and everything has always been so delicious and so organized but unfortunately as of a few months ago the service has not been great the food has made a drastic change and the service has really gone down.today we came and have been waiting an hour and a half and then when the food came it wasn’t the right order.and it empty today I know people make mistakes but sometimes the food comes out wrong or they seem in a bad mood sometimes the food comes out cold. I love this place and still continue to come here since my partner loves it but sometimes it’s disappointing we come here every other week I really hope it starts getting better definitely miss the little old lady...
