We were on a roadtrip on Pacific Coast Highway during Christmas break and couldn’t find a place to dine. Finally, we found this place, and it was an unforgettable experience. The chef's choice dinners were a culinary delight. We tried the Lamb Karahi, Lamb Balti, and Chicken Tikka Makhani.
These dishes were bursts of flavors, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Their portions were generous, complemented by both naan and rice, which made the meals fulfilling.
The soup was decent, but the real treat came with the desserts. We had a choice between rice pudding and Gulab Jamun, both of which were delicious. We ordered extra Garlic Naan and Butter Naan for an additional cost, but it was worth it considering the size of the main portions.
The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy, with intelligent use of lighting and mirrors creating an illusion of more space. As a tall person, I found the seating area a bit cramped and the tables small for the amount of food we ordered, but this didn't detract significantly from the overall positive experience.
The service was quiet yet friendly, and the chef's personal interaction was a nice touch, adding warmth to our visit.
Overall, I'd rate Shalimar Woodland Hills a strong 4.7 to 4.8 out of 5. It's a fantastic spot for authentic Indian cuisine, and I'd definitely recommend it to others looking for quality meals in a...
Read moreHer by myself to enjoy a dinner, but honestly it’s my last in this place! Food quality is terrible! I got the mix tandoori and the ground beef kabab tested very poorly, the Chicken was undercooked and did not feel right, Aldo I paid for the two garlic bread since intentionally they are made very small so you pay for two, I’m fine with that but the second bread brought to my table after I finished, no one even asked me if my food was ok and when I asked for additional tea I was given rude attitude that they can’t keep giving refills, witch I was not even excepting a free one anyway! So I told me just charge and bring the tea instead of complaining on the end he asked me if I want my check and I said not yet, but he brought it anyway! I wanted to enjoy my dinner and have tea as much as I enjoy and pay regardless but seems like it was to complicated for them! Zero star for poor service and poor food quality and give 3 star for the low light atmosphere that is nice to enjoy dinner, But not...

I have been on so many Indian restaurant and Shalimar is my favorite of all time! The way how the prepare the tomatoes, the na-an, and their most famous "the ground beef" (just ask them and they know what it is). Oh my gosh., I wish we were still in California and I would go there as much as I can. Like on my case since we moved to Portland last year, I don't feel like going to any more Indian restaurant its like night and day. I really miss this place. Thank you for the...
