It's rare for me to be so interested in a place for the good reviews they get, but when I go there it's a total catastrophe. I honestly lost my appetite half way through this cold meal. Maybe my group of 4 didn't know what to order - the waiter tried to act like he was helping us but I think he needs training. This meal was a TERRIBLE VALUE for the money. With a 20% tip, (which they did not get) the check would have been about $105, with 3 diet drinks and a water. Four salad dishes which I found extremely mediocre for the money. And one very strange shrimp appetizer wrapped in fried noodles, which neither looked good nor appetizing, but tasted ok. What went wrong? Was it that the waiter decided to give us extremely slow service which caused us to be the last people served when we were one of the first to be seated. We watched 12 people get their food before us, not take out customers. If there was to be a very long delay, the waiter should have mentioned it. But he also should not bring entrees before the appetizer. Nobody likes it, or maybe his training didn't include appetizer timing. I had a grilled beef salad which had two things on the plate. A chunk of raw, cabbage, uncut, which the waiter later said was only for garnish, even though this was a salad. (I was expecting veggies to be healthy. Yuck.) And the grilled steak? How sad it was, a little pile of sliced meat with a spicy watery sauce. It needed rice badly but he didn't offer. There was nothing on that plate besides the little pile of sliced beef and the inedible chunk of cabbage. For $14 or $15 bucks, that would be close to $20 with tax and tip. What a Siam Joke. What a literal rip-off to sell such poorly presented food like their sliced beef salad, yet their photos on their website are carefully staged, not like the actual food. I will never trust this place again. What a joke, what a ripoff, what bad service, what a bad waiter, what a disorganized kitchen (can't get orders out together and straight), what bad air conditioning. What a loser of a restaurant this is! I wish I had taken a photo of the mediocre meal that was put in...
Read moreWhen I was a kid in India one of my friends had A Burmese cook who would make the most incredible Khao Soi. Since moving to LA 20 years ago I have always missed that meal and haven't been able to find a good one until today!
Sri Siam knocked out of of the park! It was absolutely, positively the most flavourful and wonderful Khao Soi I have had in 20 years. The soup was delicious and perfectly spiced, the noodles were cooked just right and the accompanying sides were the best combination. I'm glad I drove the 15 miles to try this on the recommendation of a reddit post.
The service is extremely good, friendly and polite, the setting is basic, clean and welcoming.
Highly, highly recommend going here. Everything that was served at the tables around me looked delicious and it was clear that everyone was enjoying their food.

Read moreThis the real deal Thai food spot. The is lots of good Thai food in the LA area but the thing that sets Sri Siam apart is the price and the menu.
Everything I want to ear it here. Dishes that are not always available at other restaurants are here, and they are good!
The food is fantastic, full of flavor and fairly priced. I have seen the criticisms of the service but I found it friendly and perfectly adequate. Yes there is a longer wait when the restaurant is busy, but it is a small shop. If you want super-fast food, go get fast food.
The one critique I really have about the restaurant is their rice is not the highest quality jasmine rice, that being said the prices are beyond reasonable.
Sri Siam is a North Hollywood/Burbank treasure and I can't wait to go back again... and again......
