Wanted to support local businesses around and found this restaurant. The reviews were good so decided to give them a try. Ordered through grubhub and didn't have a problem. But a while later a lady from the restaurant calls me and tells me that one item from my order is not available so she asked if i would like to order another option instead...i said okay because thing like that happen but she said another item was seasonal so it is not available at all. Okay. Sure. That's fine. She also said the items i ordered was a lunch menu so it cannot be ready till 1230. Okay(?) I thought lunch starts at 1130 but okay. Then I had my brother go to pickup food and they make him wait for over 20min. I called to ask what took so long and the lady starts to give me an attitude. I didn't get mad or raise my voice i just said "i was wondering what took so long?" "Well lunch doesn't start till 12...so i adjusted the time" "I know, you told me when you called. You said the order would be ready by 1230." "Well you aren't the only order we have! We have other order." "I understand but i placed my order 1hour and 40min ago." She continued to badger at me so I simply said "thank you" and hung up the phone.
My brother comes and tells me there were nobody coming in or out while he was in the store waiting for our order.
We ordered 2 rubbed salads(over priced), bison burger, jerk chicken. To be fair and honest....their food was good...bison burger seemed very plain but i dipped in some sauce the green peas were drenched in and it tasted good. The salad was disappointment only because for 11$ it was very small. The jerk chicken was very favorful and portion was very good.
I am rating this restaurant 4.5 for food....and minus 3 for...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to try Swift for months and I’m mad I waited this long to eat here. Listen, the atmosphere, menu, and food is BOMB. My palette has to be touched in a special way to feel compelled enough to write a review. The flavors, the quality of the ingredients, the artistry put into each dish, the presentation. Everything exceeded my expectations. My friend and I had the pleasure to chat with Chef Kyndra who created/designed the menu. Wow. What an amazing woman. She lit up with so much passion when we asked her about the food, sharing her intent behind each dish. She expressed how she wanted to bring a healthy soul food alternative to Inglewood (which I love) while not having to compromise flavor. My friend who I came with who is a chef and a tough critic had NOTHING bad to say about the food, which is rare! Can’t wait to experience Swift once COVID passes and I can...
Read moreIn celebration of Black Restaurants Week here in LA, I decided to check out Swift Cafe. Swift Cafe did not disappoint. Having checked out the menu beforehand, the one thing I knew that I was going to order was the Tiramisu smoothie. They have dishes I've never heard of or seen anywhere else (e.g. beet dumplings). It was breakfast time so I ordered the sweet potato hash. OMG...the flavors! It's one of the most affordable menu items and certainly one of the most delicious. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the stellar service. The gentleman at the counter was super friendly, chill, and accomodating. My friend who was with me is gluten-free and he was able to make spot-on recommendations for her. Note: During COVID time they're not serving the full menu. But their current offerings are delicious, nutritious. It was well worth the trip. Can't wait to return and try those...
