Taco Mell's Catering and Restaurant — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Me and my sister came to enjoy and to get a good experience at Taco Mell's but the customer service was very much so horrible The guy was a black male with dreads or braids with a du rag on his head and he wasn't welcoming he did ask if I was sauces but he didn't bag it for me he just let them fall I almost dropped my cards trying to put it in the the no help at all he liked me sister I believe but he was very mean to me and I was very kind to him my sister even noticed and was like wow 😳 I know it's hott outside but you have to treat your customers good to come back and not be judgemental on how some one looks and that's what it was giving. My food wasn't good at all I ordered a steak bowel no beans no onions my sister bought a three meat burrito 🌯 and mine was made like anything I payed 13 bucks for that meal and I wanted to enjoy it I could have made this at home I was cheated out of meat and cheese I will never be back . First off, good luck to you trying to find the place. LA Metro is constructing a station on the Crenshaw line right outside this place. You will miss it if you come from the North side going on the address pin alone. I had to go around the bLock and asked a what looked to be Crenshaw mafia member where the shop was. I drove up the back alley way and park in the car park. There are LA Municipal ordinance street signs that read "No Cruising", which I assume is a gang thing given the small print which defined cruising as "passing the same spot on a street twice in 6 hours". Needless to say I think we can agree that Taco Mells def has the street cred :P

Once I found the place I went in and ordered. Food came out hot pretty quick. They are running a tight ship behind the counter. Friendly, excellent service. Good hip hop tunes with the likes of Kanye. The chicken burrito has a special sauce. My only criticism would be that this burrito could be wrapped better. Steak burrito was ABSOLUTE FIRE. 9.2/10

I ordered the steak burrito and added sour cream and guac. The total was only $12 after the add-ins which is awesome considering portion size and price compared to other places. Without add-ins it's only $9.

You can taste all of the flavors and the ingredients taste fresh. The burrito is nice and juicy unlike a lot of places which are usually dry. I also got the green sauce to try which is sweet and has a subtle kick which is nice if you don't like spicy.

Can't forget to mention this is one of the few black-owned Mexican spots and they definitely do it well.

I'm always critical when I give reviews and don't give scores just to give them. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place. There is usually a line but the wait isn't too long so don't let the wait make you walk away.

My only critique is that the meat was just slightly chewy, but I'm just nitpicking here. I'll definitely be back...
