Tev’s & Family Kitchen — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I visited Tev’s and Family Restaurant the day after Thanksgiving around 4 PM, and to my surprise, there wasn’t a line down the street. I knew right away I had lucked out!

There were about 10 people ahead of me, and the young lady who helped me was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable. Since it was my first time trying oxtail, I mentioned I’d heard great things about the restaurant. She suggested a half-and-half plate, and when I mentioned I wasn’t in the mood for cabbage, she recommended an extra serving of mac & cheese instead. She explained it would be a bit more expensive, but I agreed—and I’m so glad I did!

After a short 15-minute wait, I received my order. The container was generously packed—it must have weighed at least 5 pounds. Once I got home, I was impressed by how incredible everything looked—and it tasted even better! The oxtail was perfectly cooked, and the mac & cheese was rich and flavorful.

Between the outstanding food and excellent customer service, I was beyond impressed. Tev’s cooking is top-tier, plenty of seating inside and outside as well and I’ll definitely be back for more!

I can't speak highly enough of the incredible service and delicious food at this place! I've visited twice now, and each time has been a fantastic experience. The customer service is exceptional, and the staff truly make you feel welcome.

Now, let's talk about the food! The jerk chicken is simply fantastic, and the oxtails are nothing short of amazing—truly mouth-watering! The plantains, too, are delicious and are a must-try. I also enjoyed the cabbage and had to snag a side of it. The macaroni was decent, so I’d give that an 8 out of 10. The wings I had on my second visit were pretty good, but those oxtails, jerk chicken, and plantains? Absolutely unforgettable!

I can't wait to try the pasta next time! The outdoor patio is a great spot to relax; it has a nice setup with little games, making it a perfect place to unwind on your own.

Food was delicious, some of the best short ribs I've eaten. Mac and Cheese was good also. Everything about the food I have no complaints. My issue was the wait time. This is my first time ordering here, and I hear the place gets busy, but if I place an order whether it be online or in person I shouldn't have to wait over 2 hours to get my food. Then come at the designated time and still wait an extra half hour before getting my food smh.... Also, having to look into my bank statements to see if im the person that actually ordered the food so you don't get scammed is really extreme. Never have I ever. Like I said the food was good, but not worth the hoop and loops I had to go through just eat. Definitely need to find a better way of verifying online orders versus going through people bank accounts so you don't get scammed.
