A nice 30min walk or short 5 min drive from the LAX vehicle rental area, we were pleasantly surprised that the coffee was not only convenient, but very well made espresso! On one occasion we had cortados (one decaf whole milk and one oat) which were smooth. On another occasion whe had the same drinks and the quality was consistent. All of their beans are roasted on the lighter side, which provides great flavor, and even more kudos to them for consistency in taste. If you order a shot of espresso, not only is it smooth and robust, but it is also served in an aesthetically pleasing manner with a small piece of dark chocolate, a spoon to stir your espresso, and a small glass of sparkling water to cleanse your pallet. The staff answered questions that were asked of them, and most were kind. The pothos plants inside were aesthetically pleasing and calming. We got a bag of beans to go, which made great coffee, just be prepared these are expensive beans! Overall The Boy and the Bear was tasty, chill, convenient, and...

Ordered a vanilla oat milk matcha and a chocolate croissant, $17 dollars for the two feels inappropriate. The quality of the croissant IS LITERALLY a burnt piece of bread with a croissant texture on the top only. It LOOKS super good on display, but that is it. It tastes burnt and is not layered at all. The matcha tastes a bit odd as well, not gross but certainly off/different. Perhaps it's the syrup, as they informed me the matcha powder is ceremonial grade. The staff was friendly enough, but it seemed my questions and hesitation on ordering right away annoyed them a bit. Overall the experience was fine. Kinda hard to make bread taste offensive, tho I did not finish this pastry as it didn't taste good and the texture was bad. For $17 dollars, I will not be coming back. The quality does not match the price...

I think I can feel colors and hear taste after drinking the drip coffee here. I am about to ascend into a higher plane of existence from the strength of this roasted bean. I drink coffee daily and felt like I had a good tolerance for caffeine after years of consumption and just drinking energy drinks as well, but now I realized I have been drinking mud water and placebos. I am in town to visit and I walked down to grab a cup of coffee around 930am and my body is still vibrating and it’s 5:00pm. Thank the gods I didn’t finish the whole cup or I think I would be hallucinating. Pure anxiety, pupils dilated, bowels evacuated and sweet soothing heart palpitations. I don’t need a doctor, I need a shaman to guide me...

Great place for coffee. They have tables facing a window (my favorite way to remote work). I ordered a hot cappuccino and it had a lovely leaf design and tasted great. The baristas are smiley, kind, and ready to help. They do have wifi, and saw a puppy come in so I’m assuming they are dog friendly. Oh, and there’s a garage on the lower level of 74th street If you have parking anxiety (right across from the post office). They also have a bit of outdoor seating (a bench) Only docked a star because they didn’t have any baked goods when I came in at 2pm on a Friday. Hopefully I’ll have better luck next time.
