Some seriously delicious but fairly small sandwiches. They have many locations all around Los Angeles this being the most Westward of the bunch. It’s located in a small strip mall with a lot of parking. However, the parking lot spaces are very tight so if everyone is not parking well it may be hard to find some spaces. If the parking lot is full it’s easy to find free parking in the neighborhood behind the shopping center. It’s more of a to go type of place although they do have tables inside to eat. The attendant behind the counter was very polite and all of our items were made quickly for a last-minute Saturday night dinner. As mentioned the sandwiches here are quite small so don’t think of it like a submarine sandwich location or somewhere with giant belly busting sandwiches. It’s closer to the size of Porto’s sandwiches. We decided to try a few of their sandwiches. We ordered The Bentley, The Medianoche, and the Carving Club. The best of the bunch was the Bentley because the meat was truly tender and seasoned well and the sauce with it made it extra creamy and just a wonderful bite. The Medianoche was also pretty good, although not the most authentic Cuban sandwich. I wish it would’ve had a stronger mustard flavor, but still I really enjoyed it. The Carving Club was probably my least favorite of the three just because of its small size. The flavors were good, but it didn’t have the traditional club flavors in my opinion. We also ordered the tomato soup and fries as our sides and I was a big fan of the tomato soup, however, the goat cheese in it was extremely small, but the fries were not my favorite because they were a little too crisp and hard. I tend to like mine soft and salty. Overall a solid sandwich place that has some great to go options. I would recommend anyone in the area searching for a great sandwich.

We were here on a Friday around 3:15PM for lunch. Only one other couple dining in and a few pick ups. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was fresh, well designed and delicious. I especially loved my Goat Cheese (subtle) Creamy Tomato soup, but the Roast Beef Sandwich and my partner's French Dip Sandwich were awesome, too. Great flavors and textures. The Fresh Strawberry lemonade was better than the Jones Soda Blue one, but those are at least more premium fountain soda options. From what my partner implied, the prices are rather high, so it's not a low-cost diner, but it is worth it if you can splurge. There is limited free parking that is shared with multiple other businesses, including a good Sushi place (we've enjoyed a few times), Thai and couple other options. We wanted Raman, but I think they were closed for some reason. I didn't notice outlets for business meetings, but otherwise might make a quaint location to meet up. Could use more comfortable chairs, some flowers on the tables to vibe up the place for romantic dates and potentially music, thus the 4 stars on Atmosphere, but I dig the wall art a LOT. VERY Cool inspiration!

I loved The Carving Board in the Valley, so I decided to try the one close to my office. The menu is more limited then the Tarzana location, but the quality is still just as good. I tried the Buenos Aires sandwich. The buns were soft and buttery. The steak was well cooked and paired perfectly with the roasted bell pepper and chimichurri. I went with one of the premium sides and got the cashew edamame coleslaw. It was decent, but wasn’t my favorite. I’d recommend the pasta salad instead. The deep fried Oreos were insanely good. It’s hard to to limit yourself to eating just one. The Carving Board West LA is a great option for a sandwich/ lunch spot. The quality justifies the price. I only hope they expand their menu at this location.

Love BBQ and tasty roasted meats, but this place definitely does not share my love of well-prepared meats. (Their prices are high, even if the food had been good!) I complained to the staff that my beef was wildly oversalted, but they just shrugged their shoulders. I then told them it was burning the roof of my mouth, and on top of that, I found the the whole sandwich unpleasant to eat (i.e., even if it weren't oversalted, I would not have wanted to eat this sandwich). Again, the staff didn't have much of a response. They seemed listless, clueless --just not much involved with their job. Given that they didn't have any ideas on how to resolve or improve the situation, I decided on the solution for them: "Here's your sandwich back --minus one bite. Just give me my money back, please, because I can't feel good about paying such a high price for food not even palatable enough for me to eat." Suddenly they weren't so clueless or passive anymore! They started arguing with me: "everybody loves our sandwiches" and "we don't get complaints." They indignantly refused to issue a refund, but I politely held my ground. After awhile, other customers were starting to take note, especially how they were shouting at me. It seemed like once they realized that customers coming in the door were immediately turning around and leaving (probably due to noticing the unpleasant situation at the counter, especially THE STAFF's ANGRY DEMEANOR) and that I wasn't going to back down or leave until they made things right, they finally relented and gave me my money back (in a quite angry, surly manner). On attitude alone, I would recommend N0T patronizing this place. Definitely one of the worst restaurant experiences of my...
